FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is pretty straight forward. The cost to install a backsplash ranges from $25-$40 per square foot. The price varies based on the type of tile being installed, the surface (or substrate) the tile is being installed upon. The amount of metal work for the profiles. If demolition is required I ask $75 for the first hour, $50 per hour thereafter. This price includes any dump/land fill fees. I collect an additional $20 per outlet (removing old plate, electrical taping for security, replacing with new (customer purchased) face plate. The Tile Shop in Glendale, AZ offers a great line of tile and I can pass on my contractors discount to my clients.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our process is fairly simple. We provide a flat rate quote, set a start date, arrive on day one for demolition (if there is any) or to begin setting tile. We ask for 50% payment at the completion of day one and final payment upon completion of the job.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have completed the Schluter Systems innovative workshop and am comfortable with most water proofing systems. The continued education of being on several job sites over the years has prepared me for being my own boss.
