I chose to use James as my editor for two reasons; his great reviews and because in our first email, I could see his passion for editing. Entrusting someone with your literature is like entrusting someone with your child and I couldn't be more pleased with the way my edits turned out. Jim was patient with my questions and concerns and was always in constant communication with me about progress. I never felt worried giving him my book and when the time had come for my child to return home, could not be more pleased with the results! Jim had sent me a handwritten edit of my 600+ page book which showed the amount of detail that went into every penstroke and every thought. It also meant that he felt I should do the same. There is something very precious about a handwritten edit that makes you truly walk through the details of your novel in a way one may not have with an email back with a microsoft word attachment and an "accept all changes" button. (Sorry for the runon, as you can see I REALLY needed an editor). James is not only a qualified editor but a published author, himself, with wonderful advice to take you not only through the editing process but to guide you to the next step in the publishing process, as well. Thanks so much, Jim! You were a true pleasure to work with.
I met Ken Jensen in June, 2014 after interviewing several other potential editors for my novel, "Enemy in the Heartland." I selected Ken because of his professional attitude, his technical knowledge of military hardware, and the fact that he was an author himself made him an easy choice to be my editor. During the editing process, Ken's ability to keep the story's timeline correct and his suggestions on content has made my novel the success it is today. If you are thinking of using Ken's services, but questions, I would happy to talk to you on Ken's ability as an editor. Stephen Schwertley
Eric is a great editor. He helped me in the final stages of completing my Masters of Science Information Management thesis. The challenge was that I was working with several other graduate students, and demonstrating our findings and bringing the thesis together into one coherent manuscript was proving difficult. Even though We were pressed for time, Eric came through and made time to proofread the entire work carefully line by line to ensure that our ideas were expressed clearly and strongly. He was able to step back and see the entire project and what we needed to clean it up and present our data in the best possible light. I would recommend Eric wholeheartedly for any editing job!
As an educator, I am especially selective about the editors I chose and I have found that Leslie consistently exceeds my editing expectations. She has done jobs for me -both in fiction and non fiction. Her creativity, ability to “nail” specific editing details and on-time completion is remarkable and so valuable to me. She is the first editor I contact for help.
Kristine has worked with me on several projects, I have found her to be very helpful and thorough with her work. She has offered some good and creative ideas for my freelance writing.
I have worked with Tim Frystak on numerous occasions over the past four years and have found him to be an extraordinary writer and editor. He has a breadth of knowledge on a variety of subjects, ranging from popular culture and sports to history and the sciences. He is always able to find a new twist on old material, or present new information in exciting ways. His research skills are beyond reproach. Tim would benefit any project in which he's asked to participate.
Michelle was a very professional editor. She provided insite into my work and allowed for me to become a better writer because of it
Carissa Frisby worked as a freelance writer for me when I was editor of community magazines in Sun City, Arizona, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Carissa was a pleasure to work with. She is always willing to take an assignment, she turns in clean and well-written copy, and she meets deadlines. Carissa stands out as a professional freelance writer who gets things done in a timely manner, with no drama. She's a welcome member of any team, a positive contributor, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire her again.
Ashley R. Carlson is more than I great author! She's an awesome editor! I hired Ashley as the main editor of my novel Armistice. First things first she was on the ball when it came to time. I believe I received the last of my edits, at least two weeks before expected. She gave wonderful direction and pointed out some key plot holes and needs for character development. She went above and beyond when it came to critiquing. I personally need a person who isn't afraid to hurt feelings when notifying me of things that just won't work. Ashley did just that, she didn't hurt any feelings or anything like that but she 'told it like it was' and ultimately offered great direction in fixing the problem. I would recommend Ashley to anyone who needs an editor. She is skilled in making the words on the page sound beautiful, proper grammar usage, and lets her true self shine in her comments. (Which, by the way, can be hilarious at times!) Maybe I should hire her to edit this review. :P So yes, Ashley R. Carlson would be an awesome choice for your next editing project.
