This is a two team Event Service, Mrs. Tanya and her husband. They can improve the service by hiring more people to help with decorating events. I will not say anything negative about the service, but I would not use this company again! I have had far greater service for way less in price by using It’s A Private Affair many times in the past and received superior service. Do Not Use this Decorator! If you are looking for a professional to work with for a meaningful event, We had no business using someone with such low regard and standards. My daughter’s wedding was delayed 1 1/4 hours due to the negligence of this decorator. My daughter walked the aisle at 7:45pm at a ceremony scheduled at 6:30pm. Fortunately, we did not allow it to ruin her special day. I did not want my daughter and her wedding party to walk without a bouquet and marry underneath an arch not decorated,, thus, we delayed. Grand Plaza really stepped up to decorate the arch for the ceremony as the decorator did not return timely to complete a job she had been paid to do. The hotel expressed concerns over the decorator at 4:30pm as she had not returned. They were appalled that she felt we should not be upset. The decorator left the ceremony site at 1:30pm and returned at 7:00 pm claiming she was looking for florals. Our guests were moved to a holding area. The musicians left due to being out of time. She is not competent enough to deliver florals that arrived to her address completely arranged Friday morning for a Sunday evening ceremony. She may have used my daughter’s florals for another event as they arrived in vases and she mentioned she had an earlier event on Sunday. She lacks integrity, she’s mouthy, unprofessional and full of game. She is “Straight out of Compton” (ghetto). She was paid in full prior to the wedding day. She brought white linens instead of ivory claiming no one had ivory available. I called several places Monday morning in Tampa and they all confirmed stock on ivory linens. Please contact me as I can show you receipts and a complete timeline of her negligence. She never apologized. I personally purchased 5000 rose petals for the ceremony and this is what she delivered. The table cloths were purchased and delivered to her home. She opened and put them directly on the table wrinkled (zoom in on the photos to see her lack of concern for detail). The bridal party attempted to steam linens. Her drapes were not properly centered. She does not operate out of excellence! Sadly, she never apologized and was not remorseful. The hotel staff and event planners are all disgusted by her. She did not accept responsibility for her failures. Arriving at 7:00 pm for a 6:30 pm ceremony with spaces not decorated seems to be acceptable to her. She’s a liar and a bomb! The pics were taken after we steamed to show how badly wrinkled they were. The other pic has no where near 5000 petals and the florals which I ordered as complete bouquets and delivered to her were brown and in was missing the bridesmaid ribbon. If you use this person, you deserve to be take. Advantage of. Due to the extremely tight budget/deadlines, I learned a valuable lesson to not accept payment 8 days before an event.
Tanya is truly amazing! She made our event such a success with her creativity and ability to understand exactly what we were looking to accomplish at our event. She is incredibly easy and fun to work with and so responsive, even with last minute adjustments. Our corporate event was attended by a large number of high level executives and they've all provided the most glowing feedback about Tanya and her team. Everyone was truly impressed, especially me! - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Always! I am a member of the Event Leadership Institute which offers classes to their members. Also as I mentioned before I attended the New York Instutite for Wedding and Event Planning.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I got involved in event planning because I am naturally a good planner. I would help family members and friends plan their budgets, goals, parties and life events. So I was the go to person for planning.
- What types of customers have you worked with?From the west coast to the east coast, I get a lot of calls for day of coordination planning. For this service I require a months notice so that i can better understand at what stage things are in, who the vendors are and what is needed to ensure the day runs as smoothly as possible.
