FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free 60 minute assessment so the individual can learn more about my services. After gathering information regarding their health and fitness history and goals, I evaluate joint range of motion, stability and core strength to locate areas of weakness. This assessment becomes the platform from which the customer's program is designed. Short and long term goals are then established and the training regimen begins.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm usually engaged in at least 1 continuing education course at a time. From online courses and seminars to in-person practicals, I do my best to stay up to date. New challenges that I come across often prompt me to pursue a specific skill. The most recent courses and seminars I've attended include corrective exercise strategies, range of motion evaluations and fitness nutrition.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I don't think there was a specific moment that I decided to become a trainer. In high school I studied up on exercise science to help improve my performance in baseball and football. I found myself writing up exercise routines for many of my friends and family members. When I realized I could make a living doing what seemed natural to me, the decision was made.
