Mr. Stollar is outstanding with his high level of knowledge in math and English. He will take as much time to bring you back to concepts that you may have learned a few years ago if it means that you understand the material
Sari is all of the above! She tutored our son for part of his homeschooling English writing curriculum. Sari was always well-prepared and helped our son go beyond just responding -- she helped him take his writing to a deeper level, helping him write from a place of passion rather than simply intellect. She is warm and friendly and fun while, at the same time, thought-provoking and challenging. I highly recommend Sari (Sarah) as a writing tutor.
I've taken about two months of introductory Spanish from Abigail, and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to learn Spanish, both because it is clear that she knows Spanish language and culture from personal experience and also because it is clear that she knows how to teach language. She uses a wide range of teaching resources, including group games, jokes, Spanish songs, and out-of-class worksheets. In addition to immersing students in Spanish, she has taught formal grammar rules which explain the mechanics of Spanish. All of these teaching methods complement each other well. She does a good job of connecting with the people she is teaching, and is very accommodating to people with concerns or needs. During college, there were some classes in which I wished I could go on learning indefinitely; that will definitely be the case for me while taking the Spanish class Abigail is teaching right now.
Shelly is a fantastic teacher. Marie was visiting from France and wanted advanced english sessions. Shelly provided great teachings and is very professional and well schooled! Highly recommended !! 5 stars!
I have a master's degree in English, minor in French and have lived and traveled in Europe, West Africa, Yucatan Peninsula, Canada, South Korea, Hawaii, Caribbean, and all across the U.S. I've also had a long history of high school and community college teaching English and French.
I offer customized Spanish and English lessons according to future use or prospective professional use of the language. I also do English or Spanish instruction and coaching for all levels of learning; special learning strategies to reach native-like speaking qualities and abilities. I've had many years of experience teaching. I truly enjoy seeing someone learn and master a new language because of my extensive experience and expertise, a thorough knowledge of what language is about, and the specific skills to learn it. My method of teaching is more effective -- being able to accomplish our goals quickly. My credentials include a master's degree in Spanish with emphasis on linguistics, translation, and interpretation and a bachelor's degree in English. There will be an audio recording of each lesson and homework that can be emailed for correction and intensive oral practice during classes. For weekly lessons, we can also include practice over the phone by face-to-face meetings, at no extra cost. Skills are involved in learning it.
My technique of encouraging the student works. Because of this, the student tries......And learns!
I am self taught and have learned how to study and pronounce words that seem difficult very easily. Easy learning techniques I have mastered I will teach.
