Rites of Celebration
About this pro
Be careful with this one. She listened to our input as to how we wanted the flow of the ceremony to go, but on the day of the event she took off on her own tangent and schedule, and we made the mistake of inviting her to stay for the reception. She became a "self-appointed" wedding coordinator, hijacked the photo sessions - interrupting nearly every shot that the paid professional was taking, even went to the trouble of explaining to us how we were to cut the cake.....WOW.Aug 14, 2018VerifiedPamela S.'s reply
I’m truly sorry that you feel these things. We had discussed all the elements of your ceremony including the hand blessing which I believe you perceive as highjacking the ceremony I also clearly told you that I would be providing pictures as well to make sure that you had photos while awaiting your professional photos. I know that your wedding was a day of high emotions due to some family issues but I’m truly sorry if I added to that stress.
Pam was honestly like a member of our family that day. Although we only met in advance once before the day of the wedding, that time we spent sitting down together made us already feel like old friends. It's hard to imagine our wedding being as memorable or as moving without Pam or her special touches to the ceremony.Feb 12, 2017Verified
When you choose Pamela you are choosing someone who wants the perfect ceremony for you. She is an exceptional officiant who will work with and suggest ideas for your day and then do everything in-between to make sure you are satisfied with her services. Even though our day was rainy and cold, she did an outstanding job in those circumstances.....when Michel and I have our 1st anniversary renewing of our vows (in a much more serene space) we will ask Pamela to once again officiate...Thanks to her suggestions our day was everything we wanted it to be....Thanks Pamela for making our day memorable....Dec 26, 2016VerifiedPamela S.'s reply
It was my pleasure and having your loved one as our wind shield will be a special memory. Congratulations.
My groom and I along with our families absolutely loved Pam! She was original and so just absolutely wonderful. In the ceremony she even included how we met :)Nov 9, 2016VerifiedPamela S.'s reply
Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day.
We both were very happy with her. We had a house wedding and we're kinda loss at getting the wedding going. She was very helpful of preparing for the ceremony of what we were going to say on our vows and how everything was going to work.Oct 8, 2016Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? For my standard service that includes a "get to know you" session, where we get to know each other, gather information for the service and possibly see the venue. I then design your ceremony and have you preview it. I arrive at least 45 min prior to your wedding, check in with the bride and groom (this is when payment is due) and then officiate your service. After signing the marriage license I depart (approx 1/2 hr after the wedding). This service is $400 and includes a rehearsal if requested. I do commitment ceremonies, renewal of vows and handfastings as well. For a short notice wedding without preplanning, my charge is $125. There is an additional mileage charge if outside the Phoenix metro area.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I am usually contacted by one of the people directly involved with the ceremony and arrange to meet with those involved at a comfortable, informal meeting to gather information for the ceremony. We take the time to establish a comfortable conversation and address some of the overwhelming questions regarding the process. Together we decide the elements to be included and the details of the ceremony. If help with vows or readings are requested, I forward suggestions via email. I create a ceremony uniquely for the couple and reassure them that only two things need to happen --- they need to both show up and they both need to say "I Do" and all the else will fall into place. BREATHE is usually the first thing I say to the couple when they get to the altar. We all relax and get to enjoy the day. (Oh yes, there are usually tears and that is a good thing). I try to offer reassurance and help reduce the stress related to a big day.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? Before I was ordained I had spent most of my life involved with organized religion and was chosen to help with many ceremonies. I developed a passion for helping people celebrate key points in their lives with celebration. I continue to take classes in spiritual leadership and workshops for my personal growth. I have over 25 years experience in dealing directly with counseling and service.
