William has been tutoring my daughter in math and I have been seeing a big improvement in her grade. Williams is a geat tutor, his teaching techniques is very simple and makes it a lot more easier for my daughter to understand the processes step by step. I would recommend William to anyone.
I needed a lot of help with the GMAT to raise my 540. Arbor Tutors provided me with an amazing tutor for the GMAT. He helped me through both verbal and Quant sections and I ended up getting a 740.
Moe was very patient in tutoring me college algebra. He is intelligent, patient, friendly and easy to work with. I've always struggled in understanding concepts. He made math fun and associates it with real life examples, which makes more sense. I definitely recommend him as he is the best tutor/teacher I ever had. A+++
Online tutoring works great with these guys as their system is better than what I expected.
My daughter had a wonderful experience with Jayne. Jayne had tutored her in both SAT and ACT math over the past year. She made huge gains in her score and qualified for a merit scholarship because of it. Jayne's patience, kindness and teaching style made a huge difference. We had had students at ASU tutor her before but with Jayne she definitely felt motivated because she didn't want to let her down. Her encouragement did so much to push my daughter to persevere. So thankful we found her!
Audrey is a great math tutor. We needed her assistance with our son who is a sophomore that just wasn't getting what he needed in class due to size and limited time the teacher had to spend with each student. Within a few weeks we noticed his test and homework scores have improved from a 58 to 76 and now he's also getting all his homework correct and impressing not only his teacher but other students.
My son has never considered math his forte. After just a few hours with Mark he got a 98% on his Pre-Calculus Test. My son says, "He explains the math from a practical perspective making it easier to understand". We couldn't be happier and hope to have Mark continue to tutor our College age son thru Calculus for Engineers and Physics, too. Mark responded promptly, politely and professionally to our request for a tutor thru Thumbtack. He took plenty of time on the phone to get to know my son's needs and course demands. The type of book, class format and so on. Mark arrives on time (always a few minutes early) and is ready to tutor. He has a lot of experience, seems like a good guy and my son is very pleased that we found Mark.
My son has had Bill as a tutor for over a year and a half. My son stated that Bill is the best tutor he has ever had. My son who is now in 10th grade has a rough time in math. Last year, I was desperate to find him a tutor. Bill was recommended to me from a college. Because of Bill, my son passed all three semesters in math that Bill helped him in. My son wouldn't have passed if it were not for Bill. Bill is not only an amazing tutor in math he is a very kind gentleman and very trustworthy. I would drop my son off and pick him up when they were done. Bill has a gift in making math make sense. He is also very patient and professional. I can't thank Bill enough for all he has done to help my son succeed in math. I highly recommend him.
Ian is an excellent tutor. He knows all the little tricks the test designers use to trip you up and confuse you. He shows you shortcuts and strategies for each test. In my case (GMAT) he explained why missing the first 5 questions does much more harm than missing the last 5. He goes above and beyond the basic tutor role. He explains why he assigned me 5 homework problems a day for the next 5 days instead of 25 problems in one night. He also made me promise not to party for two nights before the test, which is a massive pain but it is worth giving up a night of drinking to get into the Masters program I want. He asks pointed questions instead of just explaining the answer. This helps me discover why the other choices were wrong, not just why the correct answer was right. This has forced me to slow down during the test and to work through the problem, instead of just going with my knee jerk reaction. The bottom line is: if you want to do well on your standardized test, go with Ian.
Dan was great. He was very professional and my husband are really satisfied with our resumes. Would recommend him to anyone. Thank Dan!
Mrs Leggett arrived on time and was pleasant to speak with about our grandson's need for a math tutor. During his lesson she explained math in a way that he understood. We are looking forward to working with Mrs. Leggett.
John tutored my daughter for freshman geometry. He presented concepts and information in an organized and detailed manner. He was professional and patient and when my daughter was ready to move on, he let us know. I highly recommend John!

I am an experienced private tutor teaching several different subjects. I am passionate about teaching, and I, myself, adore the learning process! I find passion in connecting with students, targeting their needs, and achieving their version of success. Every student is entirely unique, and each teaching experience holds its own outcomes. My tutoring begins with the goals and hopes of the student. They establish their goals, and I write a lesson plan that will get them accomplished efficiently. I work with students' current materials (notes, homework, or course materials) and also bring to the table my own tools and information to provide a well-rounded learning experience. I am always open to helping with a quick math problem or additional questions that come up in between lessons. I tutor standardized tests such as the ACT, SAT, GED, TEAS, and HESI. I have years of experience in this area and truly enjoy this type of tutoring. I give students valuable test-taking advice and help them get to know the material, rules, and format of their particular test. During my first meeting, I assess students with a comprehensive test, which I use as my jumping off point. I also discuss the students' goals, concerns, and results of past or similar tests. I develop a general impression of the students' unique learning style during this meeting. I write customized lesson plans in each area, targeting the students' strengths, weaknesses, and individual needs. We move through the material at a pace appropriate for the student. It is exciting to see students go from nervous and concerned to relaxed and excited for test day! I tutor biology, anatomy and physiology, and microbiology. I have excelled in these areas and find the subject matter purely fascinating. I love working with students to help them develop an understanding of scientific material and its implications in our world! I offer tutoring in English, writing, and spelling. These subjects offer an important foundation for all studies, and I like to help students secure knowledge and comfort in these areas. I also offer comprehensive tutoring (all subjects) for elementary students. This is such an important time for learning, and elementary students are such wonderful listeners and learners! I find motivation in these young minds and their desire to learn and discover new material. I believe tutoring can be an essential part of a student's education. Any student may excel at any subject given the right tools and guidance. My method of tutoring directly reflects this belief. The ultimate tutoring situation is one in which I can provide not only information to the students but also resources in which they may find their own information or further their own education.
