FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always had a camera, even when I was a child. It wasn't until I started modeling in my early twenties that I realized I wanted to be behind the camera, rather than in front. So, I took photography classes in college, dabbled with different techniques, took any opportunity I could, and here I am! I'm loving every minute of it.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I recently told a friend "you get what you pay for" that hired a photographer to shoot her wedding for next to nothing. Unfortunately, of approximately 300 images, only two or three were useful. Cheap photography is expensive, as you may not be satisfied with what you get. Research the quality of the work you are seeking, not just the price point.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
There is a lot more involved than just having photo gear and shooting an event. There's so many factors that go into taking quality photographs, from correct camera settings, to lighting, from being able to crawl around to get the shot, to the hours of post-edit work making every image look its absolute best. I love the entire time-consuming, thought provoking process!
