Jeff teaches very thoroughly and makes music so much easier to understand. He's got an amazing teaching style and so fun to jam with. I am a beginner level and I feel more confident and excited to play more often with what I know in just a couple of lessons with Jeff. Highly recommended.
After the first try-out lesson, the very first thing I asked my 13-year old son about John Miller, as a guitar teacher, and his approach to teaching was, "How do you like him?". My son's answer was an exuberant, "I like him. He's cool!". Let me expound a little bit on that. My son plays the piano and a little bit of string bass so he has intermediate knowledge of music, in general. As a guitar student, he is a complete beginner. After a couple more lessons, he often comes out of John's studio looking at ease, not compelled. In my mind, that told me we made a very good choice for a guitar teacher in John. On a parent perspective, 25 miles of driving to his studio is not the best option considering I also had to deal with the 5pm-rush hour traffic. The good nature in John still managed to be very "accommodating". Eventually, we agreed move back the schedule a half-hour later to relax the concern a little bit. What needs to be said about John Miller, the guitar teacher? Five Stars (*****), what else!
I am brand new to learning the guitar at 57 yrs old. Dave has been instrumental in providing me the mechanics, the lessons and the steps to actually be able to understand the guitar, notes, chords, & strumming. Most importantly how to play. His instructional method is about having fun and truly leaning to play songs that you want to play. Blues to Classic Rock. I would recommend him for beginners to advanced guitar enthusiast. He will tell you though as with anything practice, practice, practice is the key.
My son (7 years old) loves going to his lessons. Jimmy is animated, fun, gives age-appropriate instruction, and is extremely versatile, adaptive, and knowledgeable. We love the YouTube videos that Jimmy provides for us after lessons (video of the lesson), and how proactive he is in catering to my son's musical goals and interests. Pleasure to work with; Jimmy is professional and passionate about teaching. Highly recommend.
Ryan is very good at teaching us beginners very personable.
Let me compare taking bass guitar lessons with Michael, to trying to learn on my own. Simply put, it's like night and day. Trying to teach myself was a lesson in futility--I didn't know where to start. In just a couple months' worth of lessons with Michael, I've learned more quickly than I thought would have been realistic. Michael knows his stuff. He is very good at tailoring his lessons to each student's goals, in order to get the most out of the student in the least amount of time. More importantly than that, however, Michael keeps his lessons and the learning environment very open, encouraging, and non-judgmental. He offers personal insights on theory, as well as life in general at times, which makes lesson time much more fun and interesting. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone who is looking for quality instruction!
I've enrolled in guitar lessons with Thomas. He has been easy to communicate with, and he is encouraging and reassuring (I'm a beginner). I look forward to my first lesson this week.
I have had guitar lessons from Reggie Chavez now for over four years. I started with Reggie without any knowledge or previous training on guitar at the age of 58 . Reggie has literally opened a new door to me to the wonderful experience of the playing a musical instrument. I have learned the fundamentals and then learned how to play songs. Reggie has inspired me to play live with other guitarists confidently. Best of all, Reggie instructs in a way that is relaxed, and gives me constructive feedback in a reassuring way, never harsh or in a way I feel bad. He is the best !
Brett is the consummate recording professional in the truest sense of the word. As producer and engineer of my recently recorded album, Double Down On Love, he brought his vast musical knowledge and meticulous technical skill to the table at every session and I could not be more pleased with the results. Though classically trained on the guitar, he possesses eclectic musical tastes, all which have added tremendous color and vibrancy to my music. Without reservation, I highly recommend Brett Lashley to you for your recording needs. And should you desire guitar lessons, Brett's an outstanding instructor as well. Five plus stars for Brett Lashley.
Maryanne is a wonderful classical guitar teacher. She is very talented on this instrument and teaches in such a professional manner. She's extremely patient and helpful and even willing to answer calls and texts during non-lesson times if I have a question about a piece of music that I'm working on. She takes into consideration the types of music that I want to play and yet makes sure that I have the basic techniques to play correctly. I highly recommend Maryanne as a classical guitar teacher.
I took guitar lessons from Glen for around four years, and I am thoroughly satisfied with what he has provided me. Glens style of teaching isn't out of the book or one dimensional what so ever. He incorporates what you need to learn, while letting you choose what you want to learn, allowing you to keep constant interest in learning the instrument. Glen also pushes the student to explore different musical realms, allowing their musical mind to grow beyond what it would usually gravitate towards. Besides his vast musical knowledge, he is a very approachable guy, very easy to talk to, and he has a great sense of humor, which for me was relieving and made the lessons even more fun. I couldn't imagine having had someone else guide me on my musical journey. Glen opened my mind and helped me look at things differently. He is a phenomenal teacher, and I am extremely happy that he was my instructor.
Couldn't ask for a better drum teacher! We enlisted Bryan's help because my child was required to play an instrument in band, and within the first two weeks of school, we realized no instruction on the snare drum was provided. I contacted Bryan and he was very helpful, flexible and understanding with our situation, and fit us into the schedule immediately. My child has been taking lessons with Bryan for a full year, and they have been fantastic, and we are continuing for the foreseeable future. We started the lessons in order to keep up with middle school band. It's evolved into a child who continues to learn the fundamentals and techniques necessary to be a real drummer, but also has a lot of fun in the process. Bryan is a very patient, and fun teacher. He even teacher my child how to play songs she hears on the radio. Bryan's students run the range of real professional drummers, to beginners, and everything in between. If more teachers were like Bryan, I think more kids, particularly those who are required to play instruments in school, would be interested in music. I would give him more than a 5 star rating if I could. He is truly outstanding. My child continues to learn what she needs to know, but she's also developed an appreciation for music and enjoys it. Thank you Bryan!
I took lessons with Mike from age 11 through my senior year of high school. Mike provided me with a strong musical foundation so that I could continue to play guitar after my lessons were over. Some days we would just learn to play my favorite songs by ear. Other days we would spend time devoted to musical theory; building solos, running through scales, and general songwriting techniques. Any time that he was running late or had to cancel, he always gave myself or my parents plenty of notice. He always offered to make up missed lessons and was more than willing to reschedule if something came up. Even though I stopped taking lessons, I still use a lot of the material that Mike taught me for general reference. Mike helped take a growing love for music and turn it into a passion and talent, and I will always be thankful I took lessons with him!
Dave is a very professional and excellent musician. I have been taking guitar lessons from him for four years now and have learned a great deal from Dave. I have greatly improved my playing because of him. Dave is a very friendly and patient teacher and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who wants lessons.
Michael Daniel is everything you'd ever want in a voice coach. If you're a beginner, he accepts you where you are without judgment and builds from there, giving you confidence every step of the way. He breaks down songs into elements you didn't even know existed, and teaches you how to sing effectively in a well-thought-out, methodical way that's also a lot of fun. It's amazing how fast you can start to see progress if you follow his instructions. I've been taking lessons from Michael for about seven months now. I appreciate his patience, his talent, his willingness to answer my questions, his sense of humor, and his total dedication to my musical education. I look forward to my lessons every single week!
I guess the best way to describe my experience with Randy is that it was pleasurable and inspiring. I had taken guitar lessons with another instructor, and was always struck by how mechanical the lessons were. It was obvious the instructor was only there as a means of picking up some extra cash. He was a skilled musician, but didnt really seem to be into what he was doing. When I began taking lessons from Randy, it became immediately obvious that Randy had a passion for music. The lessons were presented in a relaxed atmosphere, and were tailored specifically for my level of proficiency. Probably the best recommendation I could provide is that I always looked forward to the next session, and really felt that Randy had made a tremendous impact on my guitar skills, but also on my appreciation of music in general.
I took beginning bass lessons from Jeff 10 years back for a year or so. I am an old dog and he was able to teach me. The knowledge he shared with me has taken me pass my goals. I still review some of the material he shared. I sometimes think I should take more lessons. I now get calls to play professionally. thanks Jeff.
My name is Bret Helm. I'm a professional musician with over 25 years experience in performing, songwriting and teaching. I've been teaching private guitar and bass lessons in Arizona at a music store that services the East Valley (Chandler, Tempe, Gilbert and Mesa) since 2004. Over the years, I've had hundreds of students, from age 5 to 75, walk through my door - some of them have went on to have successful musical careers (Jimmy Eat World), others have recorded their own solo albums, joined bands or played their favorite songs for family & friends. A little bit about me. I first hit the stage in 1991 - since then I've appeared on over 50 albums, toured all over the United States & Europe (with bands like AFI, Peter Murphy, Concrete Blonde, etc), published around 50 original songs, and even have had some of my own music played on MTV. What I love about music most is the ability to share it with others. I absolutely love to teach. About my lessons. I focus on what you want to learn - Guitar (electric, acoustic) or Bass Guitar. If you want to learn how to read music, play your favorite songs or even write your own songs - then that's what we'll focus our attention on. All styles welcome - from rock to country to jazz and everything in between. My teaching studio is at a music store in Chandler, Arizona - so you don't have to worry about going to someone's house, or having someone come to your house. Classes are private, one-on-one sessions and current rates are $25 per 30-minute lesson. It's never too late to start learning!
I offer drum lessons. I've been teaching students of all ages, from beginner to advanced, drawing from my many years of professional experience in the studio and live playing as well as touring. We combine what the student is interested in (more so for advanced) and what they need work on. To get you playing with less effort, more control, better ideas, on top of a very solid groove, I am using traditional books and years of teaching experience. I also offer music lessons, covering beginning piano. The student learns how to read and play notes, rhythms, chords, melodies and scales. I also teach bass guitar. The students will learn to read rhythms, notes on instrument and scales, approach to good technique, articulation and read tab and standard music.
I am one person teaching multiple children on multiple instruments. I get siblings to play music together and absolutely love it. I have abundant proof of typical results that i get at the website provided. I have many, many more youtube channels filled with my students videos. Getting one child to play numerous instruments is my forte.
