I provide professional, private general and classical guitar instruction and private art lessons (drawing, acrylic painting, etc.) for all ages (youth and adult, beginners to advanced). Masters Degree in Music, Bachelor of Arts.
I got the chance to learn from Bryan for a month, after which I had to leave owing to lack of time. Bryan is a great guy, very quick to identify your strengths and weaknesses and taking a teaching path based on your current level of knowledge. He is very enthusiastic and passionate about his music and his knowledge of music theory is impressive. I would highly recommend Bryan's classes for beginner and intermediate levels of guitarists. :)
I am brand new to learning the guitar at 57 yrs old. Dave has been instrumental in providing me the mechanics, the lessons and the steps to actually be able to understand the guitar, notes, chords, & strumming. Most importantly how to play. His instructional method is about having fun and truly leaning to play songs that you want to play. Blues to Classic Rock. I would recommend him for beginners to advanced guitar enthusiast. He will tell you though as with anything practice, practice, practice is the key.
I provide more than just your average music lesson! I use state-of-the-art technology and provide video and audio recordings for my students to take home as well as jam tracks to make home practice more fun and effective. Lessons are designed to your skill level and what learning style will work best for you. All lessons are customized to your tastes in music and tailored to reach your goals and aspirations. One of my goals in life has always been to bring people together thru the joys of music. Jam With Jimmi T is a fun, positive learning environment to learn an instrument and to experience the happiness and excitement of playing with others.
Let me compare taking bass guitar lessons with Michael, to trying to learn on my own. Simply put, it's like night and day. Trying to teach myself was a lesson in futility--I didn't know where to start. In just a couple months' worth of lessons with Michael, I've learned more quickly than I thought would have been realistic. Michael knows his stuff. He is very good at tailoring his lessons to each student's goals, in order to get the most out of the student in the least amount of time. More importantly than that, however, Michael keeps his lessons and the learning environment very open, encouraging, and non-judgmental. He offers personal insights on theory, as well as life in general at times, which makes lesson time much more fun and interesting. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone who is looking for quality instruction!
Couldn't ask for a better drum teacher! We enlisted Bryan's help because my child was required to play an instrument in band, and within the first two weeks of school, we realized no instruction on the snare drum was provided. I contacted Bryan and he was very helpful, flexible and understanding with our situation, and fit us into the schedule immediately. My child has been taking lessons with Bryan for a full year, and they have been fantastic, and we are continuing for the foreseeable future. We started the lessons in order to keep up with middle school band. It's evolved into a child who continues to learn the fundamentals and techniques necessary to be a real drummer, but also has a lot of fun in the process. Bryan is a very patient, and fun teacher. He even teacher my child how to play songs she hears on the radio. Bryan's students run the range of real professional drummers, to beginners, and everything in between. If more teachers were like Bryan, I think more kids, particularly those who are required to play instruments in school, would be interested in music. I would give him more than a 5 star rating if I could. He is truly outstanding. My child continues to learn what she needs to know, but she's also developed an appreciation for music and enjoys it. Thank you Bryan!
I provide guitar, bass and voice lessons, music theory and college prep music, business and tech. I am the one for you if you are looking for quality music instruction and need a flexible schedule. I do not accept more than six students at a time and do not book lessons back to back; therefore, the lesson pace is more leisurely. More often than not, the lesson time exceeds the half hour or hour allotment (incurring no extra charge). Since I do not teach privately for a living, I can be more flexible than most studios regarding scheduling. For example, I like to book each lesson by appointment with the client; that way, we can both be sure that the client has had enough time to work on the home assignments. Lessons can be every week, every 2 weeks, or every 3 weeks depending on the level of difficulty. Generally with beginners or young students, the lessons should be frequent for the sake of retention and reinforcement (weekly or every 2 weeks). It also is very effective to have the parents attend the lesson (for very young students). Even if you do not consider yourself musical, you can help the child remember what is taught and what is assigned. With the intermediate or advanced students and most adults, I find that they can be "self-taught" to a greater or lesser degree. These students can be given an assignment or concept at one session which they can then apply for several weeks or even months until they are ready or have the time for a new concept. I am sympathetic to the demands of career and family made upon by my adult students, and I realize that in most cases, they are looking for an enriching hobby, a recreational experience, or perhaps a creative and therapeutic activity. The study of music and/or an instrument is all of these, provided that the goals and tastes of each individual are taken into account. I started guitar at age 10 and was professional by age 15. I grew up playing by ear and playing rock and then went to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and graduated cum laude with my BA in music education. For 40 years, I have been a "gigging" professional guitarist and bassist in numerous, in-demand general business bands and as a soloist for weddings and such. I have played literally thousands of events of all kinds. I have also been a sound technician, conductor, arranger, agent and music producer. I have taught professionally for 30 years as an instrumental, choral and jazz band/music director, building several fine music programs that continue to this day. As a professional teacher, I am certified and have fingerprint clearance in three states: AZ, ME, and MA. I believe in playing by ear, learning to read music and understanding some music theory. Musical literacy is the ability to efficiently articulate your own ideas as well as communicate expediently with others. I am grateful to be from "both worlds", and I believe that this enables me to relate well with many more kinds of music students. I like having 50% of the ideas for private lessons to come from my students and their joy and passion, while the other 50% will be pursuing the standard training and the path of a true musician. I hope that I can help you on your musical journey! Music instruction and courses include the following: * acoustic and electric guitar lessons * electric bass lessons * music theory, harmony, and arranging * contemporary improvisation * recording techniques and demo production * sound reinforcement/midi/guitar synthesis * college and career counseling * ear training/listening analysis * audition tapes for college, festivals and competitions * music theory and history AP testing * music history and appreciation courses * band leading and the music business * youth music ensembles and programs
