Introduction: Are you ready to introduce yourself or your child to a lifelong love of music? At Phoenix Conservatory of Music (PCM), students in our community get more than just music lessons! We offer fun introductory Group Classes, personalized private lessons for all levels, and a unique and immersive College Prep Program that we hope can help you become the best musician you can be. Whether you are looking to nurture your child’s interest in music, become a musician yourself, or just have fun learning something new, we are here to make sure that your needs are met! Do you think your child would like to learn an instrument, but don’t know where to have them start? Are you unsure if your child is interested in an instrument, but think that they would have fun playing and learning with others? Then our group classes may just be the thing to get your child’s interests to Switch from video games to piano, or to move from YouTube to a tube amp! Students in our 6-week group class sessions learn the basics of the instrument of their choice with topics such as proper techniques and how to decode sheet music, all while making new friends and finding new ways to express themselves! Once a group class is over, students are more than welcome to continue their musical journey in private lessons! However, if you or your child feel that the instrument isn’t right for them, or that they aren’t ready to take music lessons, there’s no commitment from you to continue. Are you or your student interested in a deeper music learning experience that’s tailored to your interests and needs? Students who are part of our community enjoy fun, personalized lessons that will not only teach them music theory, sight reading, and other necessary musicianship skills, but will also keep them challenged and engaged in the material that they are learning! With a variety of professional, experienced teachers for you to choose from, our lessons work around your schedule. Anyone can take lessons at PCM and find something to learn that inspires them and encourages them to grow, whether it’s a five-year-old learning to play Baby Shark, a fourteen-year-old playing along with Billie Eilish, or an adult studying the piano works of Rachmaninoff! No matter your level or genre of interest, we hope to help you find a lesson that rocks just like you! Do you have a child who’s ages 9 to 17 that already loves music, but doesn’t have a place where they can meet other young musicians and hone their skills? Is your college-bound musician in need of a challenge? Then our unique College Prep Program may be just the right fit for them! A child who is in College Prep gets an immersive and fun experience making contemporary music with friends, all while learning life skills that can help shape a child’s future. Each student participates in music theory, ensemble, and enrichment classes so that they can hone their skills and learn about new concepts they may not have known about, or had the chance to learn about! Backed by Berklee College of Music’s PULSE curriculum and honored by numerous awards, our College Prep program can do just that- prepare your child for their future, regardless of if they choose to be a professional musician or not. Each year of College Prep follows the school year, taking place between September and May, so whether your child rocks out to Guns N’ Roses, or likes to groove out to Earth, Wind, and Fire, we can help you find something that strikes a chord with them! We know that each family has different resources, so we offer a sliding scale model for all of our programs’ pricing! If your family needs a reduced rate, please just give us a call, and we’ll be more than happy to help! Our hope is that we can offer you the best experience possible, and at a rate that allows our programs to be accessible to you!

My experience at the Phoenix Conservatory of Music is dual faceted. I worked as a teachers assistant in which I taught students of all ages. Previous to my teaching I was a student in which I feel I was properly prepared for higher level music education.

When a client comes to PCM, we determine your learning goals, age, availability and pair you with a teacher who can best help you meet your needs. • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We truly work on developing mentor relationships with our students, decentralizing our program to expand the student's network of caring adults who all actively work on creating external assets and help students develop 21st century skill sets such as building their team, having an attitude of gratitude, developing their plan, collaborating with others, and more. We make sure that the young person receives support from three or more nonparent adults and experiences a caring, encouraging, safe environment at PCM that has adults interacting with them in a way that validates their abilities and their worth. We select individuals who are diverse, who have great musical and pedagogical chops, and who truly care about the student's overall development as well as musical progress. We look for mission alignment and buy in, along with a passion for giving young people opportunities they would otherwise not have. All persons working with youth undergo an annual background check. All instructors have professional training and experience. To see a list of teacher bios, please visit our website.
