I arranged a private cooking class at my home for several of my friends as a Christmas gift. The event was a great success! Learned how to make pasta and other tips about cooking. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?My fee schedule for my weekly in-home meal preparation can be found on my website, with many different types of service packages available on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis. Pricing for dinner parties varies according to how many courses are desired and how many diners will be attending the party. My fee schedule for cooking lessons are broken down into 2-hour and 3-hour lessons and are on a fee scale depending on the number of people. The larger the party, the lower the per person fee. I also offer discounts for a series of 3 lessons.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Depending on the preference of my client, we either speak by phone, trade emails, or meet in person to discuss their diet and needs. I do menu planning via email before the cook date, and try to be thorough in describing how my business operates. I like for them to know exactly what to expect on my cooking days in their home.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I attended culinary school at Stratford University in Falls Church, VA, while training in a restaurant under the former Executive Sous Chef for the highly-acclaimed restaurant, Citronelle, in Georgetown. I had the great experience of being able to hone my food presentation skills and expand my culinary repertoire while working on Emeril Lagasse's TV show, Emeril Green, in 2009.
