Interview the inspector. Do not shop for the lowest price. As consumers you generally get what you pay for. Ask about experience. Are they certified by a recognized trade organization. Are they available after the inspection for follow up conversations. You are hiring an inspector to work for you.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
A home inspector is like a general physician. We check out all the vital signs of your home. If we find an issue with one component we refer you to a specialist for further diagnosis or treatment. We have to be educated on every component of a home but not necessarily an expert on individual items.
