Introduction: I am proud to say that I'm a high-end makeup artist who tailors/customizes each and every one of my clients makeup needs and wants based off of their own skin type and concerns. I only use products that are made specifically for their skin type and not just "what's popular." I focus on highlighting my clients best features, while also explaining what, why and how I'm applying. I also have makeup artistry worshops. These workshops are fun makeup classes or as I like to call them "parties." To learn how to apply makeup for all occasions from age appropriate looks for young one's, to learn how to achieve the look of upcoming trends etc. My workshops are available to women of all ages and are intended to educate them and build their self confidence. I share tons of tips and tricks that I've learned over the last decade I've been doing makeup that you don't want to miss. I love the fact that I help women of all ages feel better about themselves and building their self confidence with makeup. I believe that inner beauty is most important and the outer beauty is just a cherry on top. Makeup is always and should only be used to highlight/enhance our futures. I love teaching and educating my clients on and about products. Sharing tips and tricks about makeup and customizing age/event appropriate makeup.

This was the first class I ever attended with Malora, but it was AMAZING! Malora was very attentive of everyone in our group. Even though just two of us were getting makeovers, she made sure that our friend was also included by asking her questions and engaging in conversation. Moreover, she had very good teaching silks, obviously with makeup, but also in general. She was able to gage our skill level and base the class off of that. Because we are makeup novices, she made sure to tailor our experience by ensuring our understanding of how to contour, rather than just doing it for us. I also learned more about beauty than just contouring, as Malora taught us about identifying our face shape and skin type. She was good about checking in and making sure we really understood what she was teaching us. Additionally, she was very good at multitasking- having conducted a contour class for me and my friend, included our other friend, and continued to attend to other clients as needed throughout the the store. Basically, Malora killed it and made what was to be just a15minute mini makeover into a memorable and highly educational experience for me and my friend's. As this was my first makeup class experienced. I didn't know that I would have received such helpful service. Malora really seems to care about the customer and how they can use makeup to enhance thes their natural beauty. And she made my first contour ever look dope AF!

It is with great pride & honor that I write a review for Malora Johnwell. I have not been a Sephora Scottsdale, client, & the 2 occasions I have gone there got Unpleasant "service ". Found sales associates very non- customer friendly & and not as knowledgeable as I expected. I know what I want & specific with it esp. w/ active ingredients. I am not in the beauty industry but am an academic pediatrician, thus my choice may be too specific. I do not expect to be treated differently, basic courtesy & service. Do expect a knowledgeable sales associate though. I swore would Never go to Sephora w/c seemed like a mechanical factory to me. Just not my cup of tea! However once needed a specific product that had to go to Sephora. To my pleasant surprise met Malora who was most graciously friendly & knowledgeable! Took me by surprise! She is very service oriented as well w/c I love. Sadly, she is not on the floor as often as I hope. But I do understand & respect her priorities as well. Malora did such a great job and was so nice and helpful! She met me twice before my wedding day - once to help with my skincare routine so that my skin would be in good shape on the wedding day and once for my make-up trial! I am not really a make-up person so I had no idea what I wanted but Malora was so patient and everything turned out perfect! She also did a great job on my bridesmaids and moms - everyone was happy with their make-up and that never happens! I even had a friend hire her after seeing my make-up at my wedding!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Consulting and getting to know my clients skin type and concerns. After that is addressed,then I go on to customizing the perfect makeup/products for each client. No 2 clients are ever the same. I meet with my Brides a total of 3 times including the day of the event. First we meet at Sephora and we get the appropriate items for their needs and wants. Both in skin care and in color. We play and try products on to ensure they're perfect. We choose lashes on this visit as well. The next visit is the trial and lastly the Big day. For my other clients, process is the same minus the visit to Sephora. Some don't even do trials and just book me for the event itself. But trials are free with the booking of an event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I learn new things on a daily basis. With my own research and with beauty/ fashion magazines and video tutorials. I am a beauty advisor at Sephora where I'm constantly learning about products and the best ways to use them.
