Introduction: I provide a blend of lifestyle related goal setting, challenging fitness, with an expectation of getting results. I combine traditional weight training (dumbbells and machines) with functional fitness (stability balls, kettle bells, balance training, etc) to create a challenging, ever-changing workout to fire up the metabolism, burn calories, build muscle, and reduce body fat. In the end, if you follow the program, you get results. I have been hired by over 155 people here on Thumbtack and thousands of people throughout the years I have been in this industry. I would love to be able to help you with your fitness goals. My workouts are centered around creating a strong, lean core, and build muscle....never the same workout. I really feel like with my 20 years of experience in the industry, I can help people get to where they want to be. I have my studio in the Biltmore area, very centrally located. Matt was absolutely great! I found him through Thumbtack when I was home over the summer. I was really out of shape and absolutely lost at the gym. After three months with Matt I felt good about myself. He was incredibly nice and supportive, even when I was weak and not doing well. Workouts were involved and interesting, only mildly tortuous (and only then because I am insufferably lazy). Prices are totally affordable. If I hadn't moved I would still be there and happier and more fit because of it.

After years of trying to talk myself into going to a gym regularly, I knew the only thing that would get me there is to have the accountability of a trainer. Matt's reviews online from his clients are what made me contact him. And now I understand why.... Working with Strive Fitness is unlike anything you would "expect" personal training would be like.....In the best ways possible. Not only have I been shocked in what my body can transform into, or develop strength I never knew I had, I had no idea the "gym atmosphere" could be so enjoyable! Matt is kind, encouraging, so down to earth and very personable. He truly invests in his clients and cares about them. Not only their personal health goals, but about their lives. He is always available for questions, be it fitness, strength, food etc. He doesn't just give you an hour for the time he's paid, his clients know he's there for them anytime. That is what sets Matt and his business apart from others. Strive Fitness of course is amazing at what they do - they are skilled and educated in this business. It's what you would expect in hiring a professional. But I believe it takes more than that to run a business working with people, and this is one of those very rare finds where it ALL comes together.

Matt is an excellent trainer. His nutrition plan is tangible, easy to follow, and not unreasonably restrictive. He is able to show how to properly exercise to avoid injuring yourself, which leads to a reasonable and quick recovery time for the next session. I purchased individual personal sessions with Matt, currently working out 3 times per week with him; however, he also offers small group rates as well. He is also very flexible with scheduling. I highly recommend Matt for anyone that is a novice, like me, intermediate, experienced, or anyone needing to get back into the swing of fitness.

Matt is by far the best personal trainer that I have ever had. I have had trainers in the past that do not listen to your wants and needs and put you on a diet plan that is not realistic, or a cardio plan that is not cohesive to your goals. That is NOT the case with Matt. He listens to what I want to accomplish and continuously makes adjustments as needed. When I change my goals, he changes his plan of attack. He is incredibly knowledgeable in all areas of fitness and nutrition. His schedule is always flexible and he has went out of his way to schedule insanely early sessions with me so my work schedule is possible. In the past year that I have trained with Matt, I haven't just received a trainer, I have received a coach and a friend. He constantly cheers me on when I sign up for a obstacle course race, a run, or a competition. His workout sessions always contain new content so I do not become bored. I can not express adequately on how much Matt helps his clients.
