Introduction: EXPERIENCE is KEY! Caring educator and professional musician. Location is not an issue! I've been giving music lessons for 30+ years, since after I earned my Master of Music from Yale University. No more boring piano lessons! My focus is teaching students music they WANT to learn in addition to the tried and true traditional methods. Music is enjoyable, so the music that students learn should be recognizable and fun. Be amazed by what you can play! Show your friends! Increase your self-confidence and sense of accomplishment. Lessons are for students in GRADES 3-12 and for ADULTS. Beginning to intermediate levels. Lessons are taught online for safety and convenience. Location is not an issue! Review from parent: “Mrs. Bern is an excellent piano teacher. She is very professional, patient, and kind. She challenges, encourages, and motivates my daughter to try her best with no pressure and to improve her skills. I highly recommend Mrs. Bern!” Let's talk and schedule your FREE ONLINE CONSULTATION!

I took lessons from Christine in Calif. I found her to be professional and very patient as I started lessons in my later years. She even convinced me to perform at our Christmas recital which I never thought I would do. It gave me confidence. Thanks Christine and best of luck to you

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

The cost for lessons is a monthly flat rate. It is not determined by the number of lessons in a month, but rather the number of lessons over the eleven-month period of August through June.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to get to know my students' likes and dislikes and what music they like the most. Although lesson books are important in learning technique, etc., they usually don't have pieces in them that anyone knows. So I like to supplement with songs the student likes and wants to learn to play. The whole point is to enjoy playing music! This is what will last a lifetime.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees. Worked as a professional musician in New York City for many years. Have been giving private music lessons for over 30 years. Have taught music in public schools and music camps for children and adults. Have been the director of many choirs from children to adults. All of this training and experience has helped me become a quality educator.
