About this pro
I really appreciate his timeliness and especially his thoughts and insights! I will only use him!Jun 22, 2018Verified
I recently worked with Jim for the first time and I must say I think he is fantastic! He is thorough, timely and offers great feedback. I have already decided to work with him on my next project. I highly recommend him!Apr 10, 2017Verified
Had over 10 people review my manuscript before sending it to Ye Editor. He made significant comments on my manuscript and greatly improved the grammar, tense, and punctuation. A very gifted and accomplished editor!Jun 9, 2018Verified
The edit was done at a reasonable price. It was back to me in the mail less than 10 days after I sent it cross-country to him. He sent it back thoroughly edited, with explanations and assistance with next steps. He gave me good tips, explained what was needed, and helped me get to the stage where I am ready to go to a publisher. I will definitely be sending my next book to Ye Editor!!!May 10, 2018Verified
I was very impressed working with Jim. He kept me informed every step of the way. His comments came from an experienced viewpoint, which was of great value to me. He offers advice as well as editing. The comments he provided pointed me in a clear direction for the work I needed to do in order to achieve my goals. When I write my next book, I will hire him again.Apr 9, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Some editors charge by the page, which can result in some inequities. I charge by the word instead. At the moment, my fee is $.006 per word. As an example, a 50,000 word manuscript would cost $300. I also offer discounts for repeat clients.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? After choosing me as editor, the author submits a manuscript to me either as an attachment through Thumbtack or directly to my email. I print the manuscript and make the edits manually. I then return the completed edits with a full report, including recommendations for publishing. I'm also available afterward for follow-up and advice (no charge). I maintain contact with the author throughout the process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I was originally an English major in college before switching to Business Management. As a bank vice president, I headed a marketing and business development department. I also served as editor of the internal publications of two large banks. Twenty years as editor of newsletters for a community service group brought numerous awards.
