Before our son began guitar lessons with Jeff, he got very good, competent lessons from other private instructors as well as those affiliated with the very impressive ASU music department. But Jeff’s individualized approach has been decidedly different. Recognizing that our 10 year old has areas of music that motivate him to stay excited and engaged, he always keeps the fun parts as the backbone of the learning process. This past weekend, he eagerly and proudly showed me the importance of knowing a variety of scales (major, minor, mixolydian, pentatonic, blues, etc.) and how he can use them to create music of his own. Talk about impressive! We can’t recommend Jeff more highly!
I am brand new to learning the guitar at 57 yrs old. Dave has been instrumental in providing me the mechanics, the lessons and the steps to actually be able to understand the guitar, notes, chords, & strumming. Most importantly how to play. His instructional method is about having fun and truly leaning to play songs that you want to play. Blues to Classic Rock. I would recommend him for beginners to advanced guitar enthusiast. He will tell you though as with anything practice, practice, practice is the key.
I got the chance to learn from Bryan for a month, after which I had to leave owing to lack of time. Bryan is a great guy, very quick to identify your strengths and weaknesses and taking a teaching path based on your current level of knowledge. He is very enthusiastic and passionate about his music and his knowledge of music theory is impressive. I would highly recommend Bryan's classes for beginner and intermediate levels of guitarists. :)
Ryan is currently teaching my fraternal twins the acoustic guitar. The lessons take place in his home where he has a studio. He is a nice, young man. He is very talented and has been playing for about 10 years and because of that, I know he is well trained. He is easy to get along with and takes his time. He really cares about his teaching. My twins like going to get their lessons. And the most important thing to mevis that they are learning to play the acoustic guitar! He is a really good teacher and makes them feel like they are experts when they just started to play. Thank you, Ryan. Keep up the good work!
Jimmi is a joy. He is energetic, off-hand, and ready to move constantly. His knowledge of the ukulele, guitar, and piano was impressive and came out in his teaching, making me both trust him and want to know more. Further, his teaching style builds on each other and he is always ready with praise and critique to tell you that you're on the right track and capable of more. I had a lot of fun at my consultation and already feel like I'm better equipped. I can't wait for my first official lesson!
After the first try-out lesson, the very first thing I asked my 13-year old son about John Miller, as a guitar teacher, and his approach to teaching was, "How do you like him?". My son's answer was an exuberant, "I like him. He's cool!". Let me expound a little bit on that. My son plays the piano and a little bit of string bass so he has intermediate knowledge of music, in general. As a guitar student, he is a complete beginner. After a couple more lessons, he often comes out of John's studio looking at ease, not compelled. In my mind, that told me we made a very good choice for a guitar teacher in John. On a parent perspective, 25 miles of driving to his studio is not the best option considering I also had to deal with the 5pm-rush hour traffic. The good nature in John still managed to be very "accommodating". Eventually, we agreed move back the schedule a half-hour later to relax the concern a little bit. What needs to be said about John Miller, the guitar teacher? Five Stars (*****), what else!
I've enrolled in guitar lessons with Thomas. He has been easy to communicate with, and he is encouraging and reassuring (I'm a beginner). I look forward to my first lesson this week.
Reggie is an amazing guitar instructor! I have been taking guitar lessons from him for the past 5 1/2 years. He taught me how to play both the acoustic and electric guitar. He always goes over every song that we learn step by step and makes sure that I understand what I'm playing. Through his knowledge and experience as a guitarist himself, he makes his lessons so much more fun and easy! When I want to learn a new song and am completely lost, I always turn to my guitar instructor, Reggie Chavez! Overall, he is an outstanding guitar instructor and I would definitely recommend him for other that want to take guitar lessons!
Brett is the consummate recording professional in the truest sense of the word. As producer and engineer of my recently recorded album, Double Down On Love, he brought his vast musical knowledge and meticulous technical skill to the table at every session and I could not be more pleased with the results. Though classically trained on the guitar, he possesses eclectic musical tastes, all which have added tremendous color and vibrancy to my music. Without reservation, I highly recommend Brett Lashley to you for your recording needs. And should you desire guitar lessons, Brett's an outstanding instructor as well. Five plus stars for Brett Lashley.
I am a pianist and organist and have studied classical guitar with Maryanne for some time. She is an excellent teacher and supreme artist!! She is extremely knowledgable, patient, and understands how to clearly explain techniques and nuances with great expertise. I couldn't recommend Maryanne more highly and with definite confidence! Couldn't ask for a better drum teacher! We enlisted Bryan's help because my child was required to play an instrument in band, and within the first two weeks of school, we realized no instruction on the snare drum was provided. I contacted Bryan and he was very helpful, flexible and understanding with our situation, and fit us into the schedule immediately. My child has been taking lessons with Bryan for a full year, and they have been fantastic, and we are continuing for the foreseeable future. We started the lessons in order to keep up with middle school band. It's evolved into a child who continues to learn the fundamentals and techniques necessary to be a real drummer, but also has a lot of fun in the process. Bryan is a very patient, and fun teacher. He even teacher my child how to play songs she hears on the radio. Bryan's students run the range of real professional drummers, to beginners, and everything in between. If more teachers were like Bryan, I think more kids, particularly those who are required to play instruments in school, would be interested in music. I would give him more than a 5 star rating if I could. He is truly outstanding. My child continues to learn what she needs to know, but she's also developed an appreciation for music and enjoys it. Thank you Bryan!
Roger comes to my house each week to give my 12-year-old son acoustic guitar lessons. He is extremely patient and my son, actually all of us just love him. Within a lesson or two Roger had him doing scales and reading music, he's now playing songs and sounds pretty good. Highly recommend Roger to any musician!
Lindsey is a great person to go to for vocal lessons, guitar, piano, recording help, band coaching, etc. She works well with all ages, and all different styles and experience levels. Whether you are a very experienced singer, or a beginner like me, Lindsey will customize a program for you to help you get exactly where you want to go. She covers everything from the technical piece of vocals/instruments, but also works great with songwriters and original composers and helping to find your sound. She's got a great environment, is super nice and positive and upbeat, and has a lot of great resources such as Pro Tools/ live audio recording so you can get some studio work in her lessons as well. She makes the process really fun. Highly recommend!
Richard (Rick) is a great teacher. He is willing to go the extra mile to enhance the learning experience. He even replaced the Guitar strings and installed a strap for my daughters guitar. I highly recommend Rick to anybody who is looking for a Guitar instructor in the Litchfield Park area.
I have taken vocal lessons and songwriting coaching from Michael Daniel. In addition he has produced a few songs for me. Besides being an excellent, patient instructor with an unparalleled knowledge of rock and pop music, he makes me sound gooooooood. Very kind, ethical instructor.
Michael knows what "guitar player" means. Rhythm, lead, solo, accompaniment, electric, or acoustic. The only problem is that it is so easy to focus on his work as lead... and then forget how well he does when he is in the background.
I guess the best way to describe my experience with Randy is that it was pleasurable and inspiring. I had taken guitar lessons with another instructor, and was always struck by how mechanical the lessons were. It was obvious the instructor was only there as a means of picking up some extra cash. He was a skilled musician, but didnt really seem to be into what he was doing. When I began taking lessons from Randy, it became immediately obvious that Randy had a passion for music. The lessons were presented in a relaxed atmosphere, and were tailored specifically for my level of proficiency. Probably the best recommendation I could provide is that I always looked forward to the next session, and really felt that Randy had made a tremendous impact on my guitar skills, but also on my appreciation of music in general.
Rob is a great guitar teacher for all levels of expertise. I am a beginner, and he is able to focus me on a couple of things during the week to work on, and I can see a lot of progress. He also had me identify my goals. He is able to make each session relevant to these goals.
