JJ came to clean our tile, grout & carpet. We only had 2 rms. with carpet and he threw that it for us after doing our tile & grout with sealer. He did a terrific job, moved some furniture we had not move, return the furniture after cleaning. He used corner guards for your walls, worn protective covering on his shoes, brought fans to dry areas when he was working elsewhere. Cleaned all the baseboards, great job! Very nice young man. On time and the price was great!! Will recommend him with pleasure and continue to use Ultimate Floor Care in the future.

This was my first time using Thumbtack and DoraSparkleHome's services. Dora and Carlos did an outstanding job in performing the move-out cleaning of my rental home. They were on-time, went straight to work and cleaned a 3300 square foot house in about 4 hours. They brought their own cleaning supplies, and performed the all the cleaning tasks as outlined, including dusting ceiling fans and cleaning all cabinetry inside and out. Not only did they do a fantastic job, they did it all for a fraction of the cost other housecleaning services charge. I highly recommend DoraSparkleHome and feel that you will not be disappointed with the wonderful customer service provided.

I hired Curl Cleaning to do a cleaning for a move out on a one bedroom apt. The two ladies that showed up did a great job and were done within a reasonable time, which included cleaning the refrigerator. I would highly recommend this company to friends and the price was reasonable.

The "Maids" arrived on time and did a good job - the house was empty and I had carpet cleaners and grout cleaner and window cleaner coming in so it is hard to judge how they clean furniture or floors or windows. But the owner helped arrange all the supplemental services which I appreciated and everyone was on time and did a good job. Thanks.

Ginger and her staff are very accommodating when it comes to my house cleaning schedule. I am a single, working mom who also attends school. Every time I come home after a cleaning my home sparkles. I have 2 teenagers, and even they compliment on how nice things look! In addition, the courteous staff always calls ahead of time to let me know they are on their way. I've used other cleaning agencies, and Easy Life House Cleaning is far superior to any of them.

We'd have REN Cleaning Service come back in a heartbeat! They did a great job and I am stunned by how dramatic the difference is in my carpets! I have used several different carpet cleaners in the past, but these are the guys I would recommend, my carpets look brand new again!

Hector provided great service for a competitive price. He replied quickly to our request for a quote and examined the carpet before he gave us an estimate on stretching the carpet. He told us the carpet in the master bedroom was fine which saved us money. His work was so good we also hired him to clean the carpets. Again, he did a great job. I would not hesitate to recommend him and will use him in the future.

Brad and his Beeline Steam Carpet Cleaning is "top of the line!" He works harder than any carpet cleaner we've had and the result is bright, clean carpets. Brad is very neat and wears covers on his shoes and leave a pair for the customer to use while the carpets are drying. In addition to 3 areas of white carpets, he did 3, small throw rugs and they came out clean and bright. Brad is friendly, sincere, knowledgeable, industrious, and honest. He does what he says he'll do and backs it up with hard work and great results. When they need it again, Brad and Beeline Steam will be cleaning our carpets! Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is upholstery cleaning?

From your carpets to your drapes to your furniture, all fabrics need to be cleaned. Cleaning upholstery, or the fabric on your furniture, removes the dirt and oils that are transferred to couches and chairs through regular use. Because furniture upholstery can be delicate and colors can fade easily, it’s often a good idea to let professional sofa cleaners handle the job. They’ll determine the type of fabric — usually cotton, linen, wool, suede or microfiber — and the appropriate method for cleaning it, either steam-cleaning or applying a dry-cleaning solvent. In general, cleaning an entire piece of furniture includes a pretreatment, cleaning, and neutralizing rinse to the body, plus removing and cleaning all cushions and cleaning all crevices.

An upholstery cleaner may clean the entire piece of furniture, on a regular schedule or by request, or do spot treatments to remove pet, food, drink, or oil and grease stains. Furniture can also be deodorized to remove the smell of pets or tobacco smoke. Furniture that’s used often, like that in your family room, should be cleaned once a year to keep it fresh and extend its life. Sofa cleaners often also offer repair services to mend tears in fabric or patch holes in leather.

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

  • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
  • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
  • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

Who cleans couches?

Even if your furniture doesn’t appear dirty or stained, your couches are collecting just as much dust, pollen, germs, pet hair and dander, and even food crumbs as your carpets. In general, the same professionals who clean your carpets and drapes can also clean your couches. Carpet cleaners usually offer upholstery cleaning services as well, and may offer a discount if you have your carpets cleaned at the same time. Alternatively, you can choose from a range of professional upholstery cleaners in your area who specialize in cleaning different types of upholstery fabrics, including delicate antique fabrics and other hard-to-clean materials such as suede. In addition to deep-cleaning the entire piece of furniture, sofa cleaners can spot-treat food, pet, and oil and grease stains. Most professionals also offer services to sanitize and deodorize your furniture and apply protectants to prevent future stains. As with carpets, experts recommend that you have your upholstered furniture cleaned once every year or two, depending on how much use it gets and whether you have children and pets.

How much does upholstery cleaning cost?

The cost to have your upholstered furniture cleaned depends mostly on two factors: the size of the furniture and the type of fabric. The national average cost of upholstery cleaning ranges from $120 to $150. Most people have multiple pieces cleaned at once, but sofa cleaners will come to your home for just one heavily soiled couch or to spot-treat stains. The smaller the furniture, the lower the cost: A lounge chair may cost an average of $50 to clean, while a couch costs an average of $135 and an L-shaped sectional costs an average of $190. Delicate materials such as antique fabrics or suede upholstery are more expensive to clean than sturdier ones. Having the sofa cleaner do repairs will also add to the cost. Repairs such as mending a tear in fabric or patching a hole in leather may be charged by the task or by the hour; in general, repairs cost an average of $15 each. Special or delicate fabrics may cost additional fees, too.
