We just moved to the area and needed movers with large items. I called and the owner was incredibly accommodating and went completely out of his way to ensure out giant rug was picked up and delivered promptly and perfectly. Super great rates and also incredibly great to work with. Will absolutely be using them again.

The only thing I would say as a critique was that the time was scheduled at 10:30 A.M., and movers arrived at 11 A.M. Otherwise, Victor, Junior, and Phil were great. The guys were good and efficient. We had to make a second stop before the final destination. Unfortunately, my personal vehicle started overheating and decided to stop running. They were very patient and eventually we all made it to the final destination. They were all careful with my items and it was very nice working with them.

Sylvester (the owner), was very helpful on the phone and made me feel confident about choosing LETS HELP MOVERS. The movers arrived on time and were very professional and kind. There were no hidden charges and the move went quickly and smoothly. Great value compared to any of the other quotes I received. If you need to hire movers, LETS HELP MOVERS is the best company to hire!

I highly recommend these movers and will use them again. They where timely, professional, friendly and at a more than fair price. My parents had recently sold their home and I hired these movers to move furniture and household items from my parents house to mine. After observing the movers and learning of their rates, my parents stated that they wished they had hired Student Helping Hands for their move rather than the company they had hired.

I am writing a review purely on response and help on our upoming move. They are not able to move the heavier equipment we are looking for but just contacting they were super responsive. They even helped us try to find people that could help us move our heavier equipment by suggesting and area to look since they couldn't provide that scope of work. If we end up needing normal things moved or handy work they are definitely my first option.

Daniel and Lynn were my movers and displayed the utmost professionalism and quality work ethic. The previous movers I had had three movers and took 7 hours to do the total move. Daniel and Lynn took 3 hours and and charged $450 less. They were efficient and courteous and did an amazing job. I will use these guys again and will recommend them to everyone I know. Thank you!

Momentum Movers were very professional and efficient! I hired two movers to load a uhaul with furniture from a 2 bedroom condo. They were very careful with my belongings, no damage occurred, and they strategically packed everything to allow for easy-unloading. The movers were prompt and competed the job within the two hour time frame they promised & rate was very reasonable!

Excellent communication. Their crew was kind, respectful and very careful. We used About Integrity Movers to move a very heavy piece of furniture. This was a difficult move and the crew planned out every move prior to moving the piece. I would have absolutely no hesitation is calling on them again. When it comes time to move they will be hearing from me.

Last week i helped my mom move from Tucson to Scottsdale. Being a long drive I had to hire professional movers, especially with such heavy furniture to move around. My mom being apprehensive about other people touching her vital antiques made it very hard ,but the end results of having Mastermind Moving do this move was so pleasant. James and Tim were punctual with time and were absolutely cautious with all of the moving, shrink wrapping, and gently moving everything. With great team work and fast pace all went well. I will definitely recommend and use Master mind moving on any future moves. Thanks a lot Jose and your men!

I had jim and kev come out and help me move some heavy furniture upstairs and in the house for me. They showed up on time and they moved super fast me and my hubby was very impressed! It only took them an hour to move 10 heavy items! I didn’t expect them to be that amazing but they sure where. I did have to pay the three hour minimum which kinda sucked but they deserved it for sure! Thank u guys for ur help.

I was actually quite taken back at the other reviews that people left. People complained about having to pay more for more time and work needed by the company. Well yeah of course if the job description was inaccurate then the quote changes. It’s just a quote. This is common sense. The workers were very professional, friendly and detailed. They were very clear about the cost and that there may be additional fees that apply in case we came across things unmentioned in my request. I did agree to pay more to have them Disassemble and reassemble 2 large pieces of furniture. I was reassured by No limit movers that I was not obligated to have them do so if the quote was out of my range, although he gave me the option to continue with the job, the new quote was given to me right away to help me make my decision to continue or not. I chose the new quote, there’s no way i would be able to do it on my own. I will be needing movers again soon and will definitely rehire No Limit. I’m glad I made my decision to choose No limit without the words of the other reviews. They must be the type of people you can never please. I run my own company and understand what it’s like having customers like that. Don’t let them keep you from choosing this great company. I know I’ll be back for their services again

I decided to call TLC in September for my Big Oct Move! These guys were more than ready and they took care of everything from packing to furniture wrapping to assembly of all my bedroom sets. Since the move was gonna be pretty long, the guys took a 20 min lunch break to recharge.. the overall bill was hundreds cheaper than two other quotes I received from some other local movers> well I highly recommend these guys> good luck

Our moving project was a very heavy and akward hydraulic scissor lift transported from Phoenix, AZ to McAlester, OK. The unit arrived in three days as promised in excellent condition. Lonnie was very easy to communicate with, answered his cell phone each time we checked in and he even helped unload the heavier than expected piece of equipment. Lonnie's attitude and personality was a great plus to our project. I would recommend his services to anyone and everyone. Thanks Lonnie !!!

My movers just left and requested a review as quickly as possible. I assured them that I would provide then with a 10 out of 5 star rating. Most importantly, the young men were respectful to my husband and I. I am 67 years old so I was on the young men from start to finish - making sure they were respectful of my belongings and home. They wrapped all of my furniture and assisting with packing items that were not packed upon their arrival. I did notice a small hole in the wall at the pick up address. Tight corners so I did not complain. But I did want them to know that I noticed. Other than that, my belongings arrived in great shape. I will recommend to my friend Margaret who will be moving in about 2 weeks. I informed her to request Mark and Stephen. Thanks again for your hard work. Spend your tip wisely.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do moving companies do?

Moving companies provide a range of services to help you physically move out of one residence and move into a new place. But moving companies can do so much more than just haul your belongings across town in a truck. The national average for moving company prices ($250-$350 per hour) reflects the range of services provided. Here are examples of all the ways moving companies can help:

  • Packing: Moving companies can pack your belongings for you. They typically charge a flat rate for both the box and the labor to pack the box. The more time-consuming the belongings are to pack, the higher the cost per box. For example, books could be $5 per box, linens $10 per box, and fine china and glassware $18 per box.
  • Specialty moving: Safely move a baby grand piano, a oversize aquarium, or other specialty items with the help of pro movers.
  • Storage: Many moving companies can store your belongings while you wait for a new home to be remodeled or closing of your new home to be finalized. If you’re moving long-distance, they often provide short-term storage free for a specific length of time, and a set rate after that (such as $60 per square cubic foot of storage space used).
  • Long-distance moves: No need to rent a trailer and move your things; a long-distance moving company can haul your belongings across the country for you. Typically they charge by the cubic foot for moves, with prices based on your destination.
  • Unpacking: Moving companies can even unpack your belongings for you after they have moved them. This is not as common, and will definitely increase the price, but can be helpful if you’re not able to tackle this task yourself.

How much does a moving company charge per hour?

When you’re ready to make a major move, it’s time to research moving companies’ prices. A moving company may charge on average anywhere between $25 and $100 per hour, per worker, for moving services. The price will vary with regional labor rates, local cost to do business, and the level of service the movers are providing. Nationally, the average hourly rate for a moving company is $250-$350 per hour. This price includes a range of pricing, from all-in service with four or more movers on site to standard hourly rates for one or two movers. Other factors that affect moving companies’ prices are packing, stairs (or elevators), and distance. For a full-service move, you pay movers to pack your belongings for you. You may pay for the cost of the moving boxes and an hourly rate per worker, and there may be additional charges for packing fragile items. Stairs will also add to your moving prices. Lifting and carrying boxes and furniture up and down stairs takes more time and creates more physical labor for the workers. Moving companies may charge flat rates for flights of stairs, such as $50-$70 per flight. A moving company may also charge a one-time fee for moving things via elevator, such as $75-$100. If parking is not accessible in front of your home or apartment building, there may also be an additional fee for the added distance to carry your belongings to the truck.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

How much does it cost to move across the country?

The national average cost for hiring cross-country movers is $1,490-$2,220. A number of factors can affect the cost. One factor is the distance you want to move. For example, an East Coast-based moving company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. Another factor is how many belongings you have. Most cross-country movers charge by the cubic foot.

The type of move you want is another consideration in cost. You can have your belongings moved exclusively and delivered on a set day, or you can opt for a consolidated move, which is less expensive. In a consolidated move your belongings are stored and transported with the goods of other customers who are moving to your general vicinity during the same general time frame as you. Your belongings should arrive within a one- to two-week window, rather than on a set day. If you want the cross-country movers to pack your belongings for you, the cost will also increase.
