Alyssa Spencer did a fantastic job on not only my makeup for my wedding day, but also for my mother and all of my bridesmaids. I met Alyssa for an initial consultation to go over what I was looking for in terms of how I wanted to look on my wedding day. She assessed my skin tone and coloring and really took the time to get to know me, my personality and the look that I wanted to achieve on my wedding day....i.e., I want to look made up but not Drag Queen made up (sorry Ru Paul). After experimenting with different colors on my eyes, cheeks and lips, she came up with a great color scheme for me. I left that day knowing exactly what my makeup was going to look like. On the day of my wedding, Alyssa came to my house and in a short amount of time, completed my makeup plus my Mom's and three bridesmaids. She made my Mom feel very comfortable about what she was doing as well. She was a true professional. Not only did she work around the chaos of my large family that morning, but she managed to coordinate around the hair stylist and 2 photographs as well. All the work was done exactly like it was the day of my consultation and it looked amazing. It lasted through the wedding and 6 hour reception. I danced, I ate, I drank and my makeup looked amazing through it all! My bridesmaids were very happy with the way they looked and so was my Mom. I would highly recommend Alyssa as a makeup artist.

Alyssa was referred to me in 2002 when I was getting married. She did such a SPECTACULAR job on everyone - both during our trial and on the big day - that my family subsequently brought her in to do 3 other weddings, including one last year when we BEGGED her to fly from AZ to NJ to make us up! I tell everyone that she's a total magician when it comes to makeup, and to this day we still get comments on what a beautiful job she did. She knows exactly what will look good on you (from over a thousand miles away, she told me what color lipstick to buy and it was absolutely perfect), and I promise that you will NEVER look better. Alyssa was hired to do my makeup for my son's wedding. She arrived early and was ready to go when I returned from my hair appointment. My skin has a lot of red in it. She was able to even out my skin tone and build a beautiful glowing base. I looked radiant. My dress color was copper. Not an easy color to find eye shadow and lipstick for. But Alyssa did she had a beautiful lip color and coppery eye shadow that sealed the deal. I had many many compliments that day. Thanks Alyssa for making me look amazing for such an important day.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
YES!! I am continually seeking to improve my skills and take continuing ed in makeup artistry as well as skin care.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I literally started my own avon business at age 11. My family jokes that I have been an entrepreneur possibly from birth! When other kids were drawing houses and flowers, my homework was decorated with sketches of faces, little lipsticks and bottles of nail polish. I think makeup is in my blood!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Weddings, special occasions, business headshots and makeup lessons are my most common requests!
