Introduction: I have been playing golf for more than 30 years, and have a strong passion for the learning, playing, and progression of the game. I have experience with instruction to various levels of ability, from beginners to advanced golfers, and both individual and group instruction. I enjoy introducing people to the game of golf, with its rich history and traditions, and have worked extensively with beginners to the game. It is equally as satisfying to see someone advance through the learning stages of golf and become a lifelong player.

I’ve had 2 lessons from James so far and my understanding of my golf swing and ball striking has already gotten much better. James really gives good actionable advise and analogies so I understand how to make the changes to my swing to get the results I am looking for. I was hesitant to get lessons at first but so glad I pulled the trigger and choose James.

I would highly recommended James to anyone looking to improve their golf game. I have had two lessons with him so far and have already seen incredible improvement on the range and the course. He is great at telling you what you’re doing well, but even better at helping you correct the minor inconsistencies and does a great job at explaining why things happen making it easier to correct. I still have three more lessons and I look forward to meeting with James all week

I've been playing for 30+ years and never took a lesson, so I have a lot of muscle memory that needs to be tweaked. James is very patient and and gave me some great tips and homework to do until our next lesson. I love golf and I'm very excited to take my game to the next level. I feel lucky to have found him on Thumbtack. If you've ever thought about taking a lesson, I highly recommend James!

I decided that after 6 decades I wished to learn to play golf. I knew I needed an instructor and found James through Yelp and Thumbtack. I have started my lessons with James and could not be more pleased with his instruction, input and help. He is extremely patient and is teaching me to break down each part of the golf stroke. Additionally, he is giving me the knowledge of how to self-correct my on-going mistakes. I look forward to many more lessons with and from him. I feel very fortunate to have him as my instructor and recommend him highly to beginners and all those wishing to improve their game.

I searched on-line for a golf professional to help me with my swing and to correct a bad slice I've developed. I did not know what I was doing right and what I was doing wrong. I came across James profile and decided to give him a try. Boy was I glad I did, after my first lesson I noticed a great improvement in how I swing the club. I will be working with him for a few more weeks and I can't wait to get back out on the course and apply the things James has taught me. I highly recommend James.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We can discuss the possibility of discounted lessons for signing up for a series of lessons. I'm always happy to reward a customer's loyalty and trust in me
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First lessons are tough, and it may seem like we don't hit many shots, and that I'm doing A LOT of talking. I tell all my new customers though that if I am good at my job, they won't need me after just a few lessons (based on customer goals) because I want to give them enough information to understand what the ball is trying to tell them.
