I am an adult who took up playing the piano five years ago. After struggling through two different instructors I wish that I found Music Mary earlier. Her teaching skills are formulated from her sheer love and passion for music. From her years of experience she instinctively knows when to be tough or how to communicate in assisting her students through a block to the next level. Mary is fully versed to take a beginner through the fundamentals or an experienced grad student to the next level. I highly recommend Mary Wagner no matter what level you are currently at.

I'm an adult student for 15+ years who has always tried to fit at least a little bit of piano in a full work and home life. I found Mary after my prior piano teacher moved out of state. I've had several teachers, but Mary is outstanding and shines above anyone I've ever met, not only as a teacher, but as an individual. Her method of teaching has opened my eyes, helped me connect the dots, like no other teacher in my past. I'm inspired by her passion and talent and more motivated than I have been in 15 years. She is a patient teacher who goes above and beyond and gives 100% to her students. I've learned more from her in seven months than I've learned in my lifetime. I leave my lessons inspired, enlightened and encouraged. Her background is extensive and you get the sense music is in her soul. If you want to be touched by an extraordinary individual, you need to meet Mary Wagner. She's brilliant, in every way.

Mary Wagner has changed my life. You have probably seen thousands of posts like this but this is true. I tried to learn piano when I was six and for four years it never worked and I quit until I turned seventeen. Within two lessons with Mary, I learned ten times more than I ever did in those four years. No, I wasn't Mozart or Bach, but I had gained a foundation not only in piano but in musicianship as a whole. Now, it's been six months and I'm soaring in my musicianship. Mary has taught me so much about music but I've also learned so much life experience from such a lovely woman. She's helped me prep for college and because I'm doing the same program she taught at Scottsdale Community College, I'm getting college credit for something I love. She has given me the tools for piano and life. She has changed me for the better. Whether you're looking for that or not is up to you but I can guarantee you will become a better musician in a month with her than a year with anyone else. She is my hero and I look to her for anything and everything, especially for piano. Trust me, she is worth your time and effort.

I have just started taking lessons, but I can already tell that Mary is going to be one of the best teachers I have ever had. Her willingness to connect with students and cater to their level of ability and style is ultimately what drew me, and will keep me as a student for the foreseeable future.

I took two years of Mary Wagner's group piano class at Saguaro High School. I am a percussionist and planned on going into Music Education at the time, and thought it would be worth my time to also learn piano. Mary is definitely the best piano teacher in the area. I played so much piano literature, and progressed extremely well under her instruction. She not only made sure I could play songs, but she made sure I had the knowledge and understanding of what I was reading. She did more than just improve my piano skills; she improved my musicianship. I'm now at ASU's School of Music studying Music Education, and even tested out of first semester piano; and my music theory class isn't a big challenge. Also, my sight-reading skills on mallet percussion are quite good. All of that is a direct result of studying under Mary. I've seen her work with all different levels of students, and all of her students achieve success in some way. Studying under Mary will make you a great pianist and musician. I truly believe that if you want to learn piano and are in the area, definitely go to Mary for lessons!
