INITIAL MEETING
I begin with an email request or free phone consultation about your needs and scope of your project. I’ll ask for pictures of your current space which you can email me. All the information I see helps get the ball rolling. I will book our first get-to-know-you meeting. This appointment has a cost of $200 for an approximate 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour visit, payable prior to the meeting with Venmo or at the meeting with a check. This meeting is not a design service. At this “get to know you” meeting I photograph and measure or acquire floor plans, create a wish list, a timeline and program which includes a time estimate.
THE AGREEMENT
After our initial meeting and we all want to proceed on to the next step, I write up a Letter of Agreement, where I describe the services you are requesting and detail the payments required, etc. After you sign that and make the first design fee payment, I can get started.
Of course, design fees vary based on your project needs and the breadth of the services provided (not all projects are full service).
Flat fees are detailed with parameters as noted in the Agreement.
Minimum full service project design fee is $3,000. This amount is generally for a single room design, like a master bath. It could be more, however, depending on scope of work, size of room, and any adjacent rooms affected.
After a construction project is started, site visits are always done additionally by the hour or as a bundle. Once a week is usually typical to help us keep tabs on things with a good contractor managing your job. We strongly encourage our clients to keep us involved this way, as that's the best way to ensure the integrity of the design is achieved. Site visits are defined as unscheduled visits done at our convenience, to check on the job. These are not onsite meetings. Onsite meetings are done at the regular hourly rate.
Full service design includes all six phases of the design process, from interviews and understanding to ideas to planning, sourcing, and implementation. My ideal client gives me a clear starting point with imagery and clear expression of likes and dislikes then allows me to take over and create a holistic design that meets their functional and aesthetic needs. To get a good idea of what you're naturally drawn to, I like to look at your Pinterest or Houzz pages. It helps me begin the design process.
I also offer a Shopping and Materials List for those clients who would like to purchase furniture and materials on their own. I also offer Design Packages for clients who will manage the project on their own.
One Time Consultation is perfect for the design client looking for direction and guidance on projects to complete independently. Consultations are completed within 2 hours and performed on-site. Consultation services are provided as I’m available.
$375
1. Walk through the space with any decision making partners and ensure that you are on the same page. Make notes of your goals for the space or each space.
2. Make a list of the problems you would like to solve and order them by priority so that we can focus on the most important issue first and work our way down the list.
3. Need selection help? Finishes need to be on-site before I arrive and ready for viewing. I will bring my own paint decks, just let me know in advance if this is on the list.
4. No room or house was ever completely designed in 2 hours. This appointment is for guidance only. If more time is needed, we can discuss additional services at this time.
5. A written brief with recommendations will be emailed to you within 7-10 business days of our meeting.
A proposal for continued services will be included with your brief. Note that I typically spend one hour assembling and sending the report and this time is included in the fee.
