FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard price is $20/hour. I highly recommend two or three hours per class - one-hour classes are insufficient because we are just getting involved in what we are doing, and the hour is up. I can be flexible with cost, which we can discuss at our first meeting.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our first meeting, at no cost to you, will be to get to know a little about each other, so that you will feel comfortable, and not stressed, when you begin lessons. This meeting can be in a public place or at my home (where regular lessons will be), whichever you prefer. I will want to know about your goals, your interests, your family - anything that will help me to help you. Then we will make a schedule for classes and begin.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught English Language Learners for Head Start Adult Education, teaching parents of preschoolers enrolled in the program, as well as at Pima College Adult Education. I have a 120 hour TEFL certificate with endorsements in Grammar, Business English and Young Learners. As a Children and Teen's Librarian for the Friends of the Library, I have many books to share with students, as reading is an important part of our time together.
