Hired on Thumbtack

Hired on Thumbtack

Wow! My partner and I tried Thumbtack out when our regular photographer was out of town on a large shoot and we needed a property photographed right away. We were not at all impressed with what thumbtack gave us at first but I I tried again and Mike popped up. His pricing was in line with what we are used to paying (which is about double the other thumbtack quotes) But his images! Whoa! This guy's images were better than what we were used to. The whole office was impressed. So we decided to take a plunge and hire him for the job even though he had no reviews on thumbtack (which is partly why I'm reviewing him now) Day of shoot: Mike showed up ten minutes early, driving a very nice car. When he gets out, he's dressed better than I am! Why does that matter? We are high end agents. We deal with high end clients. Of course that stuff matters! Never in a million years would I expect that from a photographer. It definitely went a long way in impressing my clients and me. Mike uses equipment that I've never even heard of. Cutting edge stuff. Possibly overkill for real estate photography. I'm not complaining. He definitely made it look like he knew what he was doing. My favorite and I think my clients as well was that he gave us an iPad to follow along with the shoot. We could see everything he was doing and rate the images in real time. We could also see him moving things around to make the pictures look their best. At this point, I'm NEARLY ready to fire my other photographer. The shoot wrapped up in about an hour and a half which is what we were expecting. Next day in the late afternoon, I get a nice, professionally branded email. In it has a link to a the files and a link to an invoice that I was able to pay right there online. Easy as pie. Now for the good part. These pictures are BETTER than the pictures I see in Tucson Lifestyle and LUXE magazine. I mean flawless. My clients are gushing. I'm gushing. This guy is good. A+ for professional appearance A+ for image quality A+ for all of the little things We've now decided to start using Mike Leland exclusively. We've been using our other guy for ten years. He's a great guy and a great photographer. Mike is better in all regards.

What a wonderful experience!!! We hired Mike to photograph an interior remodel in the foothills. This was a rather high end project and our biggest one so far. Mike captured the details beautifully. Although Mike was the highest priced photographer to reach out to us, it was more than worth the cost. I am confident in saying that we will get many years of use out of these pictures. We initially planned to purchase a single year license and go from there but after seeing the pictures, we wished we had purchased a lifetime usage up front at the discounted rate. Mike was very understanding and let us just pay the original difference between licensing fees. Mike was very professional and had a great sense of humor. The homeowners were present during the shoot and they liked him as well. We will definitely use him on all of our projects going forward!

Mike shot an apartment complex for us. He was very thorough and friendly. The pictures came out great! He also showed us pictures of previous jobs he has done. You can tell he really enjoys what he does and takes great pride in his work.

We hired Mike to photograph our home that is going to be listed for sale. He was a very nice young man and was very professional. Mike helped us move some things around while photographing so it would "look better to the camera". We got the pictures back the next day and were very happy. Our house looks great in the pictures. It looks very true to life, so to say. My wife and I are very pleased and consider our hiring of Mike to be of great value. We're having him photograph our son's home next week!

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Shopping by price alone is a bad idea. If you are in a position to hire a real estate photographer or commercial photographer, please exercise due diligence and compare the quality of work between multiple providers. The rapidly evolving technological landscape is allowing for visual artists and service providers to enter the marketplace at a blistering pace; making choosing a photographer a dizzying experience. We recommend that you spend some time talking with your photographer one on one over coffee or over the telephone. Make sure that you are dealing with a professional that will be in business as long as you are. Reliability, honesty and integrity are key, even when choosing a photographer. As professionals, we can all enjoy more success by creating lasting relationships with vendors and service providers. Ideally, you will find a perfect fit and continue working with someone for years to come; further enhancing the quality of work produced.
