Introduction: We believe people can grow, heal, and transform no matter how intense one's defenses and wounds. Healing is possible if desired, and individuals can learn how to evoke the power within themselves to contribute to their own healing and growth. At Courageous Journeys, we believe that people are more likely to discover their own true nature when they embark in a journey that takes us beyond wounds and defenses and looks more deeply at the underlying issues that affect all aspects of ourselves. Healing takes more than insight about a problem. Knowledge about an issue is only one component to change. Healing also requires feeling, exploring, and journeying into the darkness in order to shed light on that which is hidden. Our counselors help our clients explore beliefs, feelings, and behaviors that have been maintained in an effort to survive and protect against the painful wounds and burdens hidden underneath the surface. Through therapy, counselors partner with clients to clean out the wounds in order to minimize further infection and relationship disruption in the future. We specialize in trauma recovery and addiction recovery (including, but not limited to drug and alcohol, food, and sexual addiction).
