Austin, with its live music, laid-back nightlife and coveted foodie scene is the overall favorite. Sin City – aka Las Vegas – is still popular but the more cosmopolitan New York and Chicago are a close third and fourth, thanks to great shopping and dining and easy access from anywhere in the county. For beach lovers, Miami Beach, Palm Springs and San Diego are favorites for their world-class spas and gorgeous weather, while those looking for Southern hospitality and a friendly local party scene are making New Orleans, Atlanta and Nashville the top go-to spots.

Overall and by a wide margin, female friends preferred bonding over cooking and pampering activities, with only a few groups asking for more er, spicy activities like pole-dancing lessons and boudoir photography.
