Today Thumbtack is honored to testify in front of the United States House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade on the policy issues facing small businesses in the digital era.
Hundreds of thousands of small businesses and sole proprietors across the country – from painters and plumbers to personal trainers – use Thumbtack to find new work; part of our mission is supporting them by connecting them with new customers and also by giving them a voice in front of influential lawmakers. Our testimony focuses on the difficulty small businesses have providing their employees with an outstanding selection of benefits, and how these challenges are similar to and different from more widely talked about challenges faced by technology companies today.
Our testimony can be found here and embedded below. You can watch a livestream of the hearing, which will also feature representatives from Uber, the Internet Association, and Intuit, among others, here.
