Cue the stampede. Once brides find out that they can hire everyone they need for their wedding in just a few days, the population of bridezillas will drastically decrease. Because planning a wedding just got a thousand times easier. At least it did for Danielle.
I stumbled across Thumbtack one day when I was combing Google to find someone to bake our wedding cake. By the end of the weekend, I found not only our cake, but also the DJ, hairstylist, and photographer for my April wedding. One weekend!
Friends had been telling me how stressful it is to plan a wedding, and how it takes longer than forever. I didn’t have to go to a single bridal show because I found everybody on Thumbtack in two days. At one point, I called my mom and my sister and said, “You have to go check out Thumbtack because it’s crazy how this works.” What we need is just a click away, rather than buried in the depths of the Internet.
My mom would remind me, “Don’t forget about this for the wedding…” and I’d say, “Okay, hold on.” I’d post a quick request on Thumbtack and say, “Done. My quotes will be in soon.” Thumbtack took all the stress away.
We were married at a courthouse the day before and the photographer we found, Kris Medeiros, came with us for the whole day, then went to our reception the following day. She helped us with everything. Our reception was big, and everyone showed up and said how much they loved it. Seven or eight people even asked for my photographer’s information – she was that good. Everyone wanted to know where I had found her – and for less than half the cost of other quotes I had received.
