This August we hosted our latest Thumbtack Connect, in Denver, Colorado. Forty small business professionals gathered at Coffee at the Point, in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood for a lively brainstorm session. We talked about the challenges of running a small business, answered questions about Thumbtack, and collected some great feedback about how Thumbtack can work even better for business owners. Meeting the small business owners and sole proprietors who help consumers get their personal projects done with Thumbtack was a real treat.
We were joined in Denver by two of our all-star Thumbtack success agents for service providers, Barbara and Gabe. Barbara, who spends much of her time on the phone helping pros be more successful, told us “I loved being able to meet pros who cover such a range of services and for them to meet each other.”
Not surprisingly, we heard some excellent suggestions from our Denver professionals about how to improve the Thumbtack experience for businesses – and consumers. Some highlights:
- An extended quote time “grace period” while pros fill out their quote so they don’t have to worry about rushing their message.
- A request for Thumbtack to follow-up with customers on pros behalf to check on the status of their project.
- A more streamlined way to request customer reviews after the project date (so customers don’t receive a review request before the service has been rendered).
- Thumbtack branded business cards that pros can use to promote their business and services.
What suggestions would you add? We love hearing your feedback to help make Thumbtack better for everyone who uses it.
