FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is variable depending on: number of guests to be painted, the date and time of your event, the nature of the event, event location, number of painters needed number of line managers needed for larger events There are discounts for host affiliations such as military or nonprofit; day-long events, and parties held between December 26 and March 15. My busy season is between March 15 and December 23. Please email me for a quote.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Please email me for a quote - that way everything is in one place and in writing. Be ready to answer the above list of questions. They'll affect your quoted rate.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There is no certification or licensing for face painters or makeup artists. I have studied art all my life, including college-level fine art and art history classes. Before becoming a body artist, I worked as a graphic artist/ technician for Living Books/Broderbund in Novato as a digital colorist and cleanup artist. Hundreds of hours of figure drawing and other sketching have taught me to work with precision and speed. I have attended five body art and makeup conventions (including earning a pro card for IMATS). I've also attended hands-on face painting and body art seminars and workshops taught by some of the bests artists in the field. And since 2002 I've painted at approximately 400 events. I'm probably close to my 5,000th butterfly mask, and I'm still not tired of them :-D
