Introduction: I am a working musician, so all the information I give to students is both real world applicable as well as road tested. I don't like to give out exercises that have no real musical value. I love the creativity that comes along with learning and teaching an instrument. I love having to find new ways to explain ideas that I have grasped long ago, but that are new to someone else.

I've been drumming for about 8 years now and Andrew brought so much life to my playing. I did marching and classical percussion in high school and started playing the kit in college. He helped me strip away a lot of the tenseness I had developed from my time marching, and he helped me remember how to have fun with music. Honestly, Andrew was as much of a confidence coach as he was a drum teacher and his lessons over the past couple months have taken me further than I could have hoped.

I started lessons with Andrew in June 2014 . I myself is a seasoned bassist and guitarist for 35 years, I needed to take drum lessons because I frequently have to cover on a drumset in a church band ,I have basic skills but I wanted to learn the right techniques . I am pleased with Andrews teaching methods he observes what the student needs to work on and assigns exercises that aids to improve drumming skills , he is enthusiastic , professional and fun to work with I highly recommend him for all skill levels.

Andrew taught my son drums, starting during the early months of Covid quarantine. Andrew is amazing with kids, always providing positive feedback and encouragement. Zoom lessons are tough for everyone, but Andrew found ways to make it work. He’s flexible, supportive, and a wonderful instructor whose only goal is to help you develop your drumming skills. We recommend him to everyone we know!

Andrew is an awesome teacher! I had zero experience with the drums when I started last year and he made me feel welcomed and comfortable navigating a new skill. He is super talented and thoughtful with our lessons, going at my speed and is very encouraging (even when I don't practice). We went from only having a few in person lessons before Covid hit and had to transfer to online. Although not in person, Andrew has managed to make it still easy and enjoyable to learn! Highly recommend.

Our son started to take drum lessons almost 2 years ago with Andrew. Since then he has done huge progress and really enjoy his 1h lesson with Andrew. Andrew is really good at keeping him motivated and at finding the balance between what our son would like to learn (which song) and what he has to learn. I highly recommend Andrew as a Drum teacher

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I continue to take private lessons with drummers that have skills I wish to improve upon. I attended Boston University for two years where I studied music.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have played music since I was a child, my love for it has never diminished. I wanted to pay that gift forward and help others learn an instrument that has given me so much joy.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I generally run 30 minute or 1 hour lessons with students. We work on fundamentals, various styles, and musicality. I try to use my experiences as a working musician to inform what the students focus on.
