It always felt exciting to go to his classes, he definitely stood out as a teacher in ELS, thanks to his ability to make learning English such a fun and entertaining activity to do. We could tell he enjoyed working as a teacher and that encouraged us to feel motivated as well. Rob is not only “a teacher”, he’s the teacher you’ll always remember throughout your professional career and will make you feel lucky for enjoying his professionalism.

His class was always fun and my favorite one. Great exercises with a lot of interactions with classmates in the friendly atmosphere. I do feel that I improved my English a lot in his class and definitely developed the confidence to speak!

I believe that Rob is one of the best english teachers that I have ever encountered. He’s passionate about his job and really cares about his students. His classes are dynamic and fast-paced, which helps the students to stay focused and to be proactive. Definitely would love to learn any other language as long as I have him as a teacher!

Rob is an excellent teacher, not only worried about our English learning, but also about our experience wile living in the United States. He encourages you to get out of your comfort zone and interact with the American culture, which is something that every foreigner student wants to experience in an exchange program, besides improving the language. He is a very dedicated teacher and have become a very good friend.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I'd say working out a comfort level with how the student likes to learn is first and foremost. Everyone learns differently and the way I teach each student changes from person to person. Finding out what the main goals are, is what is most important

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have an MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) with 10 years experience teaching in South Korea, The Bronx, and San Francisco. I also was Director of Education at a tutoring company in Oakland that worked with a wide variety of students from across the East Bay.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with students of all ages and backgrounds ranging from basic fluency to writing research papers to helping with college essays.
