We gave a big 40th birthday party for our son and wanted everything to be fantastic for him, our family, and all of our friends. We didn't know what a perfect choice we made when we hired Chef Marcel! We cannot say enough good things about Chef Marcel, his staff, and his wonderful food! The dishes were delicious - inventive and perfectly prepared! To add an extra challenge, Chef Marcel and his top notch sous chefs needed to cook in our kitchen and take food to our community room where we were holding the event. Every single step of the process was flawless and at the end of the evening I would have never known anyone had been in my kitchen! I had a recipe for the bartender I wanted to serve. She tweaked it and made it even tastier! Our guests wrote us the next day and raved about the appetizers, the meal, the yummy desserts, and the service, which was impeccable. The staff was friendly, kind, fun, and terrific at what they do. As most people know who give parties, the personalities of those who provide the service is critical. Every single person who took care of us was absolutely lovely. Chef Marcel was there the whole time. He was constantly vigilant making sure everything was running smoothly. He went out of his way to accommodate some hungry late arrivals. He was definitely in charge, respectful of his staff, gracious, flexible, and devoted to us having a great time! Our experience with Chef Marcel exceeded any expectations we could have possibly had. A million thank yous to him and to his stellar staff!
Chef Mike delivered a perfect dinner. All the guest were so happy with the entrees and appetizers. I highly will be using Chef Mile again at my events!!
Gourmet Lovers recently catered my son's wedding reception and everything turned out wonderfully! Carolina, Boris and their team took care of everything from start to finish and they didn't leave until the place was spotless. The food was amazing. My son and his bride didn't want "traditional" reception food so Chef Boris put together some of the tastiest tacos, beans, rice and salsa we have ever had, not to mention a fun interactive build your own Nacho Bar for the hors d'oeuvres that all the guests raved about. Not only was Chef Boris' food amazing, Carolina's wedding cake was something special. She worked with us to design just want the bride and groom wanted. The cake was rich in flavor and beautifully decorated. She certainly knows how to bake an amazing cake. I am a fan of Gourmet Lovers Catering and highly recommend them to anyone needing a caterer who not only knows how to put together great food, but knows how to work within your budget. Carolina was always prompt in returning calls and always stayed in touch with us. I plan on using them for all my catering needs in the future.
The catering staff was amazing and polite. We got one chef, one assistant, one server and one DJ. They arrived on time. Server helped us set up and clean up everything. DJ was great! They did a wonderful job! Price is very reasonable and acceptable. Paid them with extra tips when service is finished. Love the team! Recommend for any events!
My daughters Birthday was amazing, the Catering Carnival made pizzas, pink cone shaped french fries and Mac and cheese in cupcake pink cups, the kids were in HEAVEN!!!!! not one piece was left! My daughters exact words were " Can the Chefs come here every day" The display looked like a fairy tale , they were amazing, I will be uploading pics soon. From the getgo I knew I was dealing with a professional in Marc. I was talking with a few chefs about the 4th of July party I was planning and it was obvious to me that Marc was on it- when I saw his experience running kitchens in NYC, maybe the world's toughest venue, I knew he was the one. His menu was outstanding and he was open to tweaking it ahead of time to suit our tastes and needs. Marc prepared food for our meat eating and our Vegan guests and each dish was clearly marked. When our party metastasized from expected 50 guests to over 300, Marc saved the day by thinking fast on his feet and with a little emergency grocery shopping, ended up having food for all for over 6 hours. The quality of the food really took the party over the top as far as sophistication- we've all had middling to bad food at weddings and other events and it just makes you feel awkward and bad for the host- not the case here. Almost everyone at the party commented on the quality of the food - bold, nuanced flavors but not pretentious. Also, couldn't be a nicer guy. Genuine real deal.
Had a great experience with Executive Chef Mark Kearney and Team. To set expectations before the review, I like to consider myself a food lover...not a critic, just a food lover. I love great dining experiences and am equally critical or disappointed when they fall short. My family and I were hosting Christmas Dinner for a total of 10 family members. I found Chef Mark on Thumbtack based on his previous reviews. Roy (part of Mark's team) promptly reached out with thought-starters for the meal and breakout of pricing. Over the next few weeks Roy, Mark and I worked closely crafting the perfect menu for my traditional Christmas dinner, while staying within my budget parameters. To note, Chef Mark is priced higher than some of the other chefs I was in contact with, but I'm glad we went with Mark based on the outcome. The menu consisted of 4 gourmet hors d oeuvres passed around while we opened presents. A fan favorite was the roasted fig with gorgonzola and prosciutto. Then time for dinner. We sat at the dining table and were served Butternut Ravioli as an appetizer, Lobster Bisque soup (a bit on the spicy side - only critique I have with the food all night) and an organic baby butterleaf salad with incredible apricot balsamic vinaigrette. The main course was both a grilled beef tenderloin (prepared to your liking) and pan roasted turkey breast. Sides that accompanied the main course were brocollini, green beans and bacon/garlic mashed potatoes. Everything (except the soup) was beyond 5 stars in terms of presentation, taste and expectations. Lastly we were served two very decadent and delicious deserts - a molten lava cake and traditional bread pudding. Two things to mention. My wife was forced (by her OBGYN) into a new diet two days prior to the Christmas dinner consisting of no dairy and no soy. When Chef Mark arrived we asked him what had dairy and soy ingredients and he quickly and thoughtfully mentioned that he could make my wife's servings without either dairy or soy. Talk about going above and beyond. This was much appreciated and set the tone for the entire dinner! I would potentially ask for two servers for the evening on future events. One to solely serve as sous chef, helping Mark prepare the food in the kitchen and the other server to help set the table, serve food, wine, etc.. throughout the evening. The 5 hours that Mark and Team allocate for the evening can go quickly. This might alleviate that. Either way, a great experience and thank you Mark and Team!
I loved working with Susan Kowalski from Wild Thyme Catering. She was professional, helpful, positive, and personable. At the last minute, I decided to throw my husband a surprise birthday dinner for 8 people. I wanted to try something new and have a chef prepare dinner in our home. Susan was able to work with the short time frame and within our budget. She listened to what I said my husband would like and helped me put together a fabulous menu. The food was outstanding and exactly what we talked about. Everyone had a great meal and an awesome time. I definitely recommend Susan, and hope to have her back sometime in the near future.
Food delivery was a little late, but the Chefs stayed and helped with set-up and service even though they were not contracted too. They carved the turkey on location and stayed for the whole event. They also supplied plates and utensils even though we did not ask for them. They were great from start to finish with food left over after feeding 130.
Everything was Marvelous, the ladies and I enjoyed Chef Travis and Chef Jerome. Will book again thx for such a awesome brunch.... that's pancakes were to die for and I'm not even a breakfast person!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jordan is an excellent chef and caterer. He produces food that is way beyond the standard catering services. If you want cookie cutter catering go with someone else. If you want really great food at a great price stop on by or use his catering.
Chef Alexis pulled together food and beverage catering for a Congressional event in LA in a short amount of time, with elegance and style. She was professional, organized, and everyone at the event was very pleased with So Divine's offerings. I will definitely use her services again!
Michelle from One HOT Dish Catering was hired as a 'one time' personal chef at my home. I requested that Michelle provide me and my guest with a fine dining experience with five star restaurant service. She didn't disappoint. Michelle transformed of portion of my home into an elegant dining corner and prepared a full course meal with the culinary expertise reminiscent of Flemings. If you weren't in awe of the table setting and china flatware then you were marveled by her attentive service and the exquisite manner in which explained each dish. We felt like royalty. We can't wait to do it again!
Steven came to our home, to serve my husband and me our anniversary dinner. He brought a beautifully printed out menu explaining the courses. He brought his own dishware which was lovely. From the well displayed appetizers to the meal itself ... we were delighted! The food was five star! And dessert was impressive! A very wonderful experience from beginning to end. I truly enjoyed working with Amy. I had never hired a private chef for an event before so was nervous about quality and professionalism but I couldn't have made a better choice than Amy! She was super-responsive and pro-active with ideas and suggestions. We had a pretty hard-to-please group and everyone commented how wonderful everything tasted and especially how nice it was to not have to slave over the meal in the kitchen. Amy's pricing is also very fair and open to working with various budget ranges. There is no doubt I (and the dinner guests) will be contacting Amy in the future! Look no further than Amy...she's the best!

We had the most wonderful experience this summer working Valerie. There are not enough adjectives to describe how delicious, innovative, healthy, and diverse her menu is. Our family hired Valerie for our summer in Laguna Beach. Each week she prepared six unique delicious, fresh, nutritious mouth watering dishes. As New Yorkers we are often hard to please and having Valerie as a chef made us feel as we were dining at our favorite restaurants in New York City. She and I would select the dishes for the week, they would range from Mediterranean to Spanish to French to Chinese to Japanese, there wasn't a cuisine Valerie couldn't cook and each was equally delicious. Also, the quantity and ingredients Valerie used allowed us to devour each meal and not gain an ounce. She was open, easy to talk to, enjoyed collaborating on menu options, and she is an absolute delight to be around. She was professional, neat, upbeat, insightful, and a gem. It truly made our summer and we cannot wait to return to Laguna Beach and work with her next summer.
Greg was the perfect chef for my dinner party! He's enthusiastic about what he does and excellent at creating a menu that is delicious and every bit as good (or better) than dining at a 5-star restaurant while being in your own home! My guests loved the experience with Greg. Everyone who came to the party wanted to hire him for their next event! I would definitely hire him again in the future.
Chef Steve did an amazing job preparing a luncheon at my home in Laguna Beach for 50 people. . The portions were large and scrumptious with lots of leftovers. I would definitely recommend him and will use his service again. Thanks Steve for a job well done.
