Very happy overall. Described what we were looking for and he delivered promptly and as desired. Quality craftsmanship and an attention detail and to cleaning up afterwards that I respect as a tradesman myself. I get a firm impression that he takes pride in what the job, not just in getting the job done. I may have a few more jobs to hand off to G & G. Matter of fact, he is painting my living and dinning rooms right now. Pix are of fence unfinished.

What a team. Our fence was painted beautifully and with great care. All areas not to be painted were covered or taped. There was no "dilly-dally". They arrived when they said they would and got right to work. They wanted to be sure we were happy with the outcome. We will also be having them paint our sheds. We will definitely use Spectrum Painting again for our painting needs and we highly recommend them.

Tinoco Painting removed our acoustic popcorn ceiling from throughout our house. They did a great job in removing it all and retexturing the ceilings. It was quite a messy job but they covered everything in plastic and cleaned up thoroughly when they were done. They also refinished all our cabinets. They look so beautiful now. Tinoco Painting was great to work with, they do great work and the price for everything was fair and below what we expected to pay. They are a very professional company. I highly recommend them for your next project.

My job included wall repair and painting in a bathroom and wall repair in a laundry room (required a drywall patch). Bo arrived when we agreed and he continued until the job was finished. In all about 3 days. The bathroom walls required some plaster work which wasn't known by me or Bo when discussing the job. He recognized the need and made the required repair. Bo and I are discussing additional work including a whole house exterior paint job.

I am so happy my friend referred me to CDP. I was really looking to find a company that could do the variety of different projects I wanted complete, rather then having to call a company individually for each service I wanted done. Well CDP was able to take care of everything I wanted done for a great price, from a new countertop in the kitchen along with a new sink, patched up the drywall in my craft room and painted it, cleaned out my gutters, and even Custom built me new cupboards in my hallway.

Michael has done prior work for me and his work was always top notch. That's why I asked him to do this latest project of screening in a porch the length of the back of my house both for me and as a cattery for my cats. Although I had done an initial design, his suggestions for materials and some changes to the design were right on. His quality of construction far surpassed my original conception and I am more than enthusiastic with the result. All is absolutely sturdy; neither dog nor cat nor people will mess with it! The wall of lattice at one end was already in place as a screen for Mojave Desert sun and wind, so we continued that lattice design along the rest of the porch bottom to protect the screen from the dogs, and Michael did a great job. It was Michael's idea to use galvanized steel for the screens as a protection against cat clawing (it works!), and it also turns out to block very little of the view (although the photos look like it cuts down the view, but it really doesn't). The photos are prior to my staining and painting, but show the beautiful workmanship. My cats went bananas in their new outside digs, and love the view from their 6' high walkway, er, runway, er sleeping perch. The porch used to be filled with debris from the wind so much that it was discouraging even to clean as stuff would be back in an hour; now it's been 3 or 4 weeks and still looks great - no leaves and debris! And so pleasant to be on the porch even when it is windy outside as the lattice and screens cut down the wind to a mere breeze. I've used screens for my vegetable beds - never realized how effective they really were to temper sun and wind! Great result! Absolutely love it!

Very professional on the job. I had exterior & interior painting done including old bathroom cabinets. Everything was completed in a very timely manner with maximum concern of neatness. The reasonable cost was competitive & the workmanship could not have been any better than Norio's services. I highly recommend them for your sprucing up needs!

Chris painted the exterior of our 2000 sq. ft. two story house in Bakersfield in May of 2015. He did a wonderful job with the preparation and painting over a period of almost two weeks. He was very meticulous; we are thoroughly pleased with his work! If you would like to see our house, contact us at mattbarbmichael@yahoo.com and we'll arrange a time to see the finished product. A big plus in having Chris take on such a major job is the ease of working with him. His primary objective is to make sure the homeowner is totally pleased.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

      • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
      • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
      • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
      • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
      • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
      • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
