FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Troubleshooting existing installations. Often times I find "Electricians" simply putting in a bigger breaker rating and walking away. Breakers are sized to the wire size in order to protect the integrity of the circuit. If you're overloading a circuit due to a bad design, over used extension cords, or a damaged/loose neutral, that breaker is just simply doing what it's designed to do. Putting in a larger breaker, especially with a lack of proper grounding is a total fire hazard, and will most likely fail in a wall, in the attic, or under a walkway. The complete disregard, or lac of knowledge is always cheaper and easier than using an honest, dependable Journeyman. Or is it?
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Don't just get a price, get the scope of work. If a competitor is 10% cheaper, but only doing 50% of the work, you may like to know what you're getting. If they don't pull the permits, if they aren't using quality materials, sizing their wires and/or overload protections, the installation will deteriorate over time and cause serious problems down the road. Use the $$$ you're saving on good quality smoke detectors.
