I have been to quite a few counselors in my life and Dr Ira Lake is by the far the most genuine, caring and skilled. He is very professional and smart and helps you figure out how your past affects who you are today. I see him for individual and couples counseling and have taken my 7 yr daughter as well. He is wonderful! I highly recommend him.
Michelle is a warm and inviting person who made me feel comfortable very quickly. She has been a great mentor and helped me overcome many obstacles in the aftermath of a serious life event I experienced. I felt I could be me without any concern for fear of how she may react. I have done traditional therapy but have preferred her holistic approach to combining therapy with a goal oriented approach to solving problems one may be experiencing. I have been able to get to a much better place in my life thanks to her support and the perspective she helps me obtain through self reflection. She encourages you just enough to help you push past your self-set limits without ever feeling like she is pushing you past your boundaries. Somehow, I always get to the realization I need on my own terms but with the help of her encouragement. I love her approach and feel that her respectful manner along with her warm, understanding attitude creates a space for one to really get down to one's core and find one's self in the process. She has truly been a gift to my life.
Helped with Relationship Counseling. My girl friend and I were going through a difficult time. We heard from others about the benefit of choosing a life coach over a MFT or a Psychologist. Our problems were communication about here and now. We didn't want to have to spend so much time individually sitting in "couch therapy " with a psychologist. Patti gets right to the underline issues. Her experience in this field is second to none. Our relationship including that of our teenage children that each of us has from our previous marriages has gotten so much better. Everyone in our family has benefited from we call her " our life coach" She is so easy to talk to. My fear and anxiety trusting to talk to someone with our issues went away the moment we met her. Our relationship has never been better thanks to Patti
Stephanie is the universal counselor. I have no doubt she could help anyone with any struggle. My boyfriend and I were dealing with one of the toughest hurdles in a relationship, loss of trust. We were never great at communicating and were not open to therapy at the start. I agreed to try a session with Stephanie. I was NOT disappointed. After one hour with her help, I felt at ease with myself and hope for my relationship. She allows you to work together in the room and reach conclusions on your own and with her help. This was perfect for me, I don't like being talked at. She listens carefully, is patient and supportive. She leaves you with exercises to use at home that strengthened our connection and understanding of each other tenfold. We are very grateful to have found Stephanie Mintz.
Octavia is a very caring and compassionate therapist. She helps you get to a better place of understanding yourself and the world. I appreciated her ability to make the therapy process comfortable.
I was embarrassed to talk about my sex life with anyone. After working with Dr. Stephanie I felt comfortable discussing my sexual concerns, was able to overcome sexual shame, and was able to reconnect with my partner after years of a sexless relationship. I felt very supported and understood by Dr. Stephanie and would highly recommend her for couples and individual therapy. - A.L.
Therapy never quite made a difference for me in the past, and believe me I really wanted it to. Samanthas approach is so completely different and more personal then anything I experienced before that it has profoundly impacted my life in a way I always wished therapy would have. Unlike others, she helped me understand my life as a whole - and helped me develop a sense of self-compassion I never before realized would be so instrumental in my self-acceptance and self-growth. I learned to appreciate what it really means to be a growing human-being with Samantha and I learned to step back and see the whole picture of my life instead of just chopped up and seperate events. Some are good at making you think they understand you, but with Samantha one feels it. Best of all, she feels like a friend that really relates and not a detached doctor taking suspicious notes that is always at an arms length. I only wish I had met her sooner.
I have had a lot of dead end therapy where I was allowed to vent and ruminate on my sadness and all the wrongs done to me. Lisa has a loving task oriented approach to therapy that I have never experienced before. She builds my confidence while keeping me on the straight and narrow without wallowing. I'm excited to see what new lessons or insites she has for me each week. I didn't have healthy role models for parents so Lisa gives me perspective on what a healthy husband and wife relationship is. As well as what healthy parenting looks like. We've never been happier. Thanks Lisa Strong!
Julia made our wedding day a great experience, and she was really helpful in getting our ceremony planned out! She took the time to learn about the two of us and baked a lot of really wonderful things about us into the script. We had a couple of specific requests to appease my (now) mother in law's side of the family, and she was really respectful, thoughtful, and insightful about how to honor those beliefs in a way that felt really natural and meaningful. We could not be happier. Thanks again Julia!

She possesses warmth and empathy and comes from a business background so brings a practicality to her work. Cindy has a leadership role in The Los Angeles Group Psychotherapy Association and is always learning the newest trends in the therapy world. The professional advice given me by Deborah Vinall has proved invaluable on many different occasions in my work and ministry with troubled youth and young adults. She demonstrates a keen insight, empathy, and compassion into the complexities of the human experience. Her gentle understanding of the pain and suffering that leads to addictions, cycles of trauma and abuse, balanced with wise goadings towards boundaries and reclaiming ownership of ones life and actions have modeled a beautiful spirit of cooperation and non-judgemental support. Deborah Vinall clearly exudes the maxim of Tamar Counselling Services : "reclaiming wholeness", as she herself creates safe space for persons in any stage of healing to begin their journey towards doing just that!
Dr Starr was very caring. I have never been to therapy before and was quite nervous. Dr Starr made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be back.
Great therapy sessions and available
When people ask me about Pedro, this is what I tell them, "Hire Pedro Baez, work with him assiduously, and change your life immeasurably for the better." Pedro is a forthright, honest, and loving coach who will act like a sextant as you steer your life towards the direction you want to go, revealing the innumerable choices in your journey and the transformative beauty of the experience. I've worked with him for almost two years, and this is the fruit: 1. Wrote a well-received book. 2. Recovered from an abusive marriage. 3. Learned to be less reactive, spot dysfunctional cycles, and shift relationships so that they are healthier. I am grateful for the work we have done.
I have had 5 hours of individual therapy and I am very happy with my experience so far. I like the way Alik Segal,JD,MA,AMFT, approaches the situations that I am dealing with and I appreciate his honest willingness in wanting to help me with touchy subjects in my life.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and professional clinical counselor in Los Angeles. I work with adults, teens, couples and families on all kinds of emotional and relationship issues. I have a particular interest in couples counseling, family therapy, life transitions, career development and grief and loss issues. I also enjoy working with creative people whose lives are maybe out of balance. Change is difficult but necessary in life. As human beings we tend to fantasize about reinventing ourselves or the situations that we created. We wish there was a magic wand that could transform us. I work with this desire for change and help people process the hard places that they don't want to go to alone. I believe that doing this work will provide a richer and more meaningful life. I bring a direct, grounded approach to helping people with their day-to-day situations, while also drawing upon my training in psychodynamic therapy to work towards lasting change. My style is flexible, informal and gently confrontational. I bring warmth and compassion to help open up possibilities for people. It's exciting when something that seemed unattainable begins to seem reachable. My role as a therapist is to create a safe, trusting and comfortable environment, where we become curious together about what is not working in your life and find new ways to approach situations.
Krystal Soles has been exceptional when it comes to communication and flexibility. I am very happy with my experience with her.
