If you're an experienced singer looking to hone your skills, check out Griffith's other reviews -- I'm here to vouch for Griffith's ability to teach beginners. In fact, I came to Griffith having never sung a note in my life. Before taking lessons with Griffith, I was convinced that I simply didn't have "the knack." I just flat out couldn't sing. But my job brought me to Los Angeles for a few months, and in a surge of optimism, I signed up for singing lessons. All of Griffith's reviews were from experienced singers, but he assured me that he was down for teaching beginners. And calling myself a beginner was rather generous... Yet, in the brief two months I was in LA, I learned more about singing than I ever thought I could. I'm by no means a professional now, but I could probably perform in front of good friends or family with fairly positive results. And believe me, that's a monumental improvement. During my time with him, Griffith was friendly, professional, fun, and, most importantly, successful. He gave me good feedback during lessons and sent me home with useful exercises every time. Of course, I have literally zero other instructors to compare him to, but I can say with confidence that I would recommend Griffith for anyone looking to find their voice!
3 lessons already and singing has been much more fun! She is positive, honest, personal, knowledgeable, and a great resource! She's taught me to sing more naturally and how to perform and I'm glad I have the opportunity to learn from her! She certainly has a knack for developing this beautiful art in her clients! Thanks Jan!
New to vocal lessons my goal was to learn about my voice and the skills necessary to sing the genre of music relative to me, I struck gold when I found Richard. Richard's expertise and experience has allowed me to find my voice and understand how to use it. I feel much more confident about singing after each lesson, with Richard I'm always on my way to reaching my goals. Great coach great person!
Dr. Stephanie is great! I've only been taking singing lessons with her for almost 2 months now, and I feel like i've learned so much. I came in with absolutely zero experience in singing and she was very patient with me learning from scratch. I'm naturally a very self conscious person and she made me feel very comfortable immediately. I've already started to see and feel improvement in my voice. She's also just a very awesome person in general, she's super nice and encouraging and makes you excited to come back for the next lesson.
James is an excellent guitarist. It was a pleasure taking lessons from him at Peaceland Music. I learned a lot, improved my playing, and had a great time!
Jason is the BEST! My daughter has learned so much (piano and singing) and she counts down for her lessons.
I've been taking lessons with Debbie for less than two months and I can already see results. She teaches in an understandable way. I can assure that the practices at home with the recordings in class are of great help. I stopped singing at the age of 10 and haven't properly sang until right now (age of 18.) I can already see results in just a short period of time. She is patient and makes it comfortable to sing. I am auditioning for the X Factor soon and I feel very confident on improving and getting through the judge's audition and bootcamp. I would really recommend her if you're considering on taking singing classes.
Emo is an awesome artist he is patient and understand and knows when to push you to your very limit. I shopped around for voice coaches for weeks before I settled with Emo anyone reading this don’t look at anyone else. Go see Emo he’s laidback patient and he his lessons are fun.
In ONE lesson Marquita had me singing 3 octaves with a minor third above that. I was amazed; in my younger days I did have the three octaves (no minor third, tho) but as I got older I lost the ability and had lazily settled down to mezzo soprano range. She really knows the vocal instrument and has helped me conquer some of my breathing and performance problems. I find myself singing a lot more - even some solos at church. She turned me on to singing again - not bad for a 71 yr old, huh?
I'm currently taking singing lessons with Lou, something I've never done before. My initial intention reason was to step into my deep fear of singing in front of others, and what I'm discovering with Lou's mentoring is that I can actually sing. He's patient, laid back, and a professional musician with a formal education in music and talented on a number of instruments as well. So far, having fun, singing tunes I enjoy, and making a ton of progress in a relatively short period of time.
For the vocal lessons, I learned how to use my diaphragm, also Im learning different styles of singing with my voice. I can now use my voice to go to alto and to mezzo soprano to soprano. I always try to practice my vocal exercises she gives me and the songs that we work on in the lessons. The exercizes are helping my technique improve daily. April is a teacher that pushes you to practice and work hard to be a strong singer. She pushes me but Im improving at the same time. I feel she wants me to be successful as a singer. She makes me feel like I can do it!
I worked with Kevin for over 2 years during my time at AMDA Los Angeles, and would have worked with him for the entire 3 years that I was there if I had to option to. Kevin is an extremely knowledgable vocal coach and it was an extremely beneficial experience. In vocal lessons, sometimes the simplest concepts are the hardest only because they were communicated in a confusing way, but Kevin taught his lessons in very relatable terms and made sure I understood exactly what he meant before we moved on. He also paid attention to my strengths and weaknesses, catering to each equally. For example, he knew that I learned music very quickly and kept me motivated by giving me new songs to work on, while still focusing on my vocal weaknesses and never getting impatient if I was having difficulty. It was a true honor to work with such a patient, caring and knowledgable vocal coach, and if I ever come back to LA, I will be contacting him for more lessons. He was my voice teacher as well as my mentor during school, and I'd recommend him to anyone seeking a voice teacher.
Omar is very professional and patient. My daughter is enjoying her cello lessons.
Vanessa was my singing teacher for approx 3 years in Melbourne. Having never had singing lessons before and starting later in life Vanessa was great in assesing what level I was at and moulding my lessons to suit my ability. I also really liked how I could chose the songs that I liked to sing which made it more enjoyable. I improved my ability very quickly and got a lot more enjoyment out of singing because I had the right technique. Vanessa is a very gifted musician and a great teacher.
By far the most amazing vocal lessons ever. Immediate success, Radina is a very friendly teacher. Great techniques and very well explained, for me as a beginner exactly what I was looking for! I would recommend one full lesson a week.
Mia is an exceptional vocal instructor. I am a beginner singer. It is unbelievable to see how my vocal skills have improved with just a few private singing lessons. She is patient and makes the student feel comfortable. I couldn't be in better hands! From Beginners to Pros I highly recommend Singing Studio LA.
I took vocal lessons with Mariela for about 4 month, and this was one of the best investment I've done, my range got wider, my tone got better, I can hit Higher notes.. These weird exercises worked lol !! What sets her apart other vocal teachers is that she's actually a great singer and performer. Thanks Mariela !!
Brian is a great voice teacher! He is extremely professional and knowledgeable, and takes great care to bring out the best in his student vocally. His keen intuition and sense of humor keep the lessons fun, and his vocal exercises and choice of repertoire continually challenge, strengthen, and fine tune my vocal technique. His dedication to my success as a singer, and his passion for excellence have helped me discover my “true voice” with an increased sense of confidence, purpose, and joy. I heartily give Brian an A+ in all categories!
Bonnie has truly transformed my voice. She coached me through insane vocal tension and in no time sent me off to become a singer. Helping me to apply for competitions and schools throughout my time with her. I have seen her teach all different voice types and everyone who takes lessons has a positive, productive experience. I highly recommend her to any singer. Beginner or professional.
I am currently taking lessons with Alissa. She is really nice and understanding, plus she makes a new lesson plan for me every week. She comes to my house too!
JC is such a talented singer and meets you where you are at in your singing. I was a beginner and learned proper breathing and tone. He helped me to own my voice and express myself through song. He is a positive and friendly teacher, and very gentle. I highly recommend him for anyone wanting to amplify their singing or even just get started.
