Greenside did a great job on our very dirty tile. It appears that the tile never got cleaned in the few years we had our house rented, but now thanks to Greenside, they were able to restore it to its original look. Thanks again Greenside!

Very professional services. Did an excellent job on our carpets. They look like new. As for our sofas, they went above and beyond and cleaned our sofas a second time to our satisfaction. I would of given them a 5 star rating if it wasn't that even with the second time around one of my sofas still was left a lil dirty. Other than that Jetsons Carpeting did an excellent job.

We couldn't be happier with the job they did. The tile looks great and there attention to detail is something you just don't see very often. You can tell that they really take pride in there work. We where kept in the loop every step of the process. They showed up when they said they would and completed the job in a timely manner. We will be recommended them to our friends and we will be using them for all of our tile/flooring needs in the future.

I had a wonderful experience with this company. Robert and his mother were the two who came to do the cleaning. I got this as a gift to my boyfriend who had been fostering a rescue cat and her SEVEN baby kittens after they were all adopted. To say the kittens left a bit of a mess is an understatement. Robert and his mom did an awesome job making the place look (and smell) like new. They were one of the only cleaning companies I called that offered carpet cleaning without having to contact an additional company, and for an extremely fair and affordable price. They also do upholstery cleaning and were able to restore a kitten destroyed lazy boy. They also used all natural/pet friendly products when we asked. Super awesome and friendly and will definitely use in the future. In fact, I've already hired them again for my own house next week.

When we purchased our house 6 months ago, one of our first tasks at the house was to remodel the master bathroom and bedroom. We wanted to replace the existing carpet with a new wood floor, new coat of paint, crown molding and in-wall storage cabinets and in the bathroom, we wanted to basically tear down everything and to rebuild it including the new shower, bathtub, paint, vanity with double sink, new tile all around and new heated floor. We met and interviewed quite a few home improvement contractors and Excel Construction was one of them and our interaction with Eyal placed them at the higher place above the other ones based on their price, design, skills and honesty. We loved the 3D design that he did for us which integrated the summery of all our meetings and it proved that he clearly understood my vision. After we hired Eyal, I can’t write here enough about his level of experience, his capabilities and his quick responsiveness to my calls or emails. The remodeling job took a little less than 4 weeks and all the working people including Eyal were always there, working and checking the work, supervising his team who were top notch and working efficiently. We still love the remodeling job that they did for us and we highly recommend Eyal, the working team and the office staff that were involved in this remodeling. For our next remodeling project, we will definitely call Eyal again. Thank you!!

Scope - replace hallway floors (due to slight flooding/leak); gut reno one of the bathrooms; customize hallway closet(s). Pros: - Contractor was prompt to respond and quick to commence the job - Joe and his team are very professional - Quality of work is good - It is apparent that State Wide has a Subject Matter Expert for every aspect of the reno (different folks for plumbing, carpentry, tiles, flooring). Most likely 3rd parties but pros nonetheless. - flexible payment structure (also accepts CCs) Cons: - Execution was very slow; perhaps Joe's team was focused on bigger projects (it was mentioned on a few occasions) and it was apparent that our reno was not prioritized. - there were items that should have been spec'd out and ordered as to avoid delays (e.g. floor should have been matched on day1, subway tiles etc..). Numerous days were wasted as the team was waiting on the materials - my biggest frustration with the reno was the lack of empathy and accountability. Excuses/justifications were presented instead of just owning up to the significant delay (work was supposed to be executed in 10-14 days max; it took 30 days). It would have been completely fine if the delay was communicated properly instead of us hounding the team. Overall, we are happy with the renovation.

Roberto and team did an excellent job on our backyard California room floor. The laid wood looking tile in a 45 degree angle and it looks fantastic. They were able to accommodate an expedited timeline and Roberto and crew worked till slightly past midnight on Easter Sunday to get the job done; now that's commitment to their word. These guys are top notch and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Not only were they very professional and knowledgeable, but my carpet, tile, and chairs stayed clean longer because they used an organic natural solution so the dirt didn’t adhere as fast as it did with soap. Thank you aqua cleanse! I recommend this company to all my friends.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

  • Old standard or electric toothbrush
  • Stiff bristle brush
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to get tiling done?

You can install tiling on your floors, walls, counters, kitchen backsplash, outdoor patio and shower — to name a few places. Tile is beautiful, easy to clean, durable, and resilient against kids and pets. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Often, tile installation specialists quote a price per square foot for installation. Costs can increase if you want the pro to supply the tile instead of ordering it yourself. Other factors that can increase cost include specialized installation with a unique design that will require more labor to install.

Prep work will also affect tile installation costs. Demolition of the existing floor, counter or backsplash takes time and energy that will be reflected in the price. Necessary repairs, such as a sub-floor that needs bolstering before tile flooring can be installed, will also increase costs. For tile showers, one example of tile installation cost may be approximately $25 per square foot including all materials and labor. Average tile installation costs for backsplashes may run anywhere from $10 to $40, depending on the materials selected and the amount of labor required. The larger the area where tile is being installed, the lower the price per square foot will likely be. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for wood-look tile installation in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet.

How much does it cost to tile a shower?

The cost of tiling a shower depends on two main factors: the size of the shower and the quality of the tiles. In general, most professional tilers charge an average of $25 per square foot of tiled area and the national average cost for a tile installation project is $490-$750. The tiles themselves are the greatest variable; the cost depends on their size, shape, pattern and manufacturer. For example, tile purchased at a volume discount from a big-box store cost far less than tiles made in small batches by an artisan ceramics shop. Prices can range from as little as $1 to $50 or more per square foot of tile. Other factors that will drive up the total tile installation cost are grout and mortar, speciality tiles like bullnose caps or soap holders, and surface prep materials, especially if drywall needs to be replaced before the tile can be installed. Many tile installers will also remove and haul away any old materials from an existing shower installation.

How much does it cost to tile a bathroom?

Tile installation costs are a key part of your bathroom remodel costs. The tile you select (which can range from under $2 per square foot to $50 per square foot or more), the demolition and repair work required prior to installation, and the size of the job will all affect cost. You can install tile in the shower, on the counters, on the wall or on the floor. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Bathroom tile is easy to clean and durable for daily life. Here are some examples of average bathroom tile installation costs:

  • Tile installation at $25 per square foot of tiled bathroom area.
    • A standard tub and shower combo requires tiles for approximately 60 inches of length. Calculate wall height and add 30 to 36 inches of tub width for the walls at the head and foot of the tub. If the tile walls are 6 feet to 8 feet high, in this example, the tile installation costs would run about $2,000. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with an 8-foot ceiling: $1,450. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with a 10-foot ceiling: $1,650. Price includes materials.

How much does it cost to install a ceramic tile floor?

Tile installation costs for ceramic floors depend on the type of tile you select. You can purchase tile that sells for under $2 per square foot or tile that costs $50 per square foot — or more for artisanal and hand-painted tiles. The cost of labor to install a tile floor will also depend on the tile you select. It is far less labor-intensive to install a white 12-inch by 12-inch square tile than a 2-inch by 2-inch hexagonal tile with a distinct pattern. That extra time and energy equates to a higher per-square-foot installation cost. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for labor to install wood-look tile in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet. That same pro may charge $6 or more per square foot for a more intricate pattern, or a smaller space. Some installers may charge a minimum day rate for ceramic tile floor installation, such as $340 minimum per day, to cover business expenses and employee wages. If you’re looking to reduce costs, removing your existing flooring and handling any repairs needed can help eliminate prep work costs. Prep work may be charged per hour and could cost anywhere from $25 to $80 per hour or more, depending on the region and the type of repair work necessary.
