Started going for violin lessons (I'm in my 20's with no music background). Had only a couple of classes so far. I really like the pace and her style of teaching. She is professional and very easy to work with.
I highly recommend Ilana. I contacted Ilana just a few weeks before our wedding and asked for some songs which were not regular for weddings. She not only said yes to all of our songs and found us a cellist quickly, but was also responsive to discuss all the details to make sure the performance go well. At the wedding, they arrived early and our guests loved their music! My husband and I feel very grateful for their wonderful presence at our wedding!
Julie is so nice and sweet. She is a very good and professional violin teacher. As one of her students, my 8 year old son loves her and her teaching.
I am a bass player who has always played guitar here and there but nothing too serious, and about a year ago decided I really want to know the fundשmentals of guitar. A friend recommended Jacob Light, whom I've heard play before in local bands, and I decided to take the chance. I wasn't dissapointed to say the least. Jacob is a really down to earth guy who immediately understood my musical style and focused mainly on what I wanted to know, unlike other teachers I've had experience with. Even so, he knew what subjects to insist I learn, like improvisation. and scales. all this was done in a friendly, calm, cool yet persistent atmosphere which is just the right blend for learning, in my opinion.Soon enough I started feeling I really understand guitar, and this new kno'ledge even helped me with my bass guitar playing. Ive been taking guitar lessons with Jacon for 6 months and the only downdise I can think of is the fact he moved to California, otherwise I would have still take lessons from him, without a doubt.
Have started lessons with Chloe just one month back for my 9 year old. My daughter and I love the energy and enthusiasm she brings to each lesson. Her focus on technique is something I really appreciate. My daughter was learning violin for about 2 yrs before coming to studio violin, and just month I can see that her music is sounding better with Chloe's detailed focus on basics and techniques. My kid is loving it so far so thumbs up and highy recommend her!
Very happy that I found Larisa! She is outstanding professional, enthusiastic and dedicated teacher. She pay a lot of attention to the technique of playing violin that is very important. My son is really enjoying violin lessons with Larisa.
Michele is a wonderful teacher! I am taking violin lessons after several years of not playing and she is very encouraging. After years of playing classical music, I am enjoying taking lessons to explore other styles of music, such as folk music. She has an extensive background that allows for this kind of exploration.
I have three kids all taking music lessons at the school. Its great to be able to bring them to the school and have them take lessons at the same time. The teachers are very inspiring and professional. We will be here for years!
Kathleen makes every aspect of violin enjoyable. She challenged me to be better, and made learning fun and stress free while doing so. There was never a dull lesson!
Prompt response to schedule, easy payment online. First lesson with cello teacher with Bridget was great - she is good with kids. Still early on, so hoping it continues to go well!
Going very well.
My daughter learns a lot from Julia. She teaches her different techniques, tips on how to play musically, and more...
Alex is one in a million! He teaches music through a structural perspective rather than by the more traditional method of learn a note here, learn a note there (I haven't played the piano since I was a child, but I still cringe at the memory of the tedious and monotonous scales, finger exercises and simplified classical pieces I used to have to play). Alex's lessons are anything but tedious, and, even though I am essentially a beginner (having forgotten everything I learned as a child), I feel like I am well on my way to having a deeper understanding of what I am playing because I have a developing understanding how it works. I feel like I am learning the language of music through total immersion rather than by the textbook method of learning how to read the notes. I now listen to and hear music differently, and there is much I am learning on my own. I am especially pleased with the way Alex tailors my lessons around what I want to do rather than what he thinks I should do. As a result, I am learning to play jazz piano rather the stuff I was forced to play as a child (unless I want to, of course, in which case he would teach me that). And the best part (as if it could get better)? Alex is so enthusiastic about what he does that it is contagious and makes working with him a sheer joy. There is not much I look forward to and enjoy more than my lessons with Alex. Needless to say, I highly recommend Alex Balmaceda for anyone who is interested in learning more about music than simply reading and playing the notes.
My name is Thomas. I've been playing guitar for over 15 years now. I want to teach students to play what they want while also learning the basic fundamentals of guitar. If they want to learn their favorite pop song I'm going to teach them it, if they want to become an amazing guitar player I will teach them how to become that as well.
My daughter has been taking piano and violin lessons from Paul. The piano lessons since age 9 for almost 2 years now, and the violin lessons for a few months now to augment the strings music instruction at her school. He was referred by a family in our neighborhood, and he was open to trial lessons before completely signing on. He goes into music appreciation and history along with his teaching. We have also enjoyed a few recitals of his students along the way - there are three of these each year in student homes, and the anticipation of an upcoming recital is good motivation for the student to practice. For one of these recitals, Paul wrote the sheet music for a popular song that my daughter chose, since there wasn't one readily available. So he goes out of his way to customize the teaching. My daughter has progressed well, and enjoys the experience. I definitely recommend Paul.
I am teaching piano and violin individually, and I am teaching with passion. I love my work, and I have good results.
I am a violin teacher with a music degree from the University in Maine. I have been teaching classical violin for 4 years to students from beginner to advanced/intermediate level on the East Coast and am now available to do so here in the Bay Area. In addition to my classical violin training and teaching experience, I can also teach many different fiddle styles including Celtic, Old Time Appalachian, jazz, swing, contra dance, Quebecois, etc. I am experienced in improvisation and can lend a hand with that as well.
Hi! I can teach guitar, drums, breakdancing, ballroom dancing, etc. I am versatile and have studied music and dancing for 10 years. The first lesson is free!
