DJ Shawdy was the hit of my 40th birthday party! He came early to set up, stayed until we couldn’t dance anymore and everyone couldn’t stop talking about how great he was! What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Having the customer fill out a questionnaire starts the consultation process. Then have a follow up conversation to get any other specifics ie songs to play/not play,outline/timeline,etc...
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have done live sound for several artist including: J.cole, Bone-Thugs and Harmony, E-40, The Grouch, Bobby Brackins, and several more. I listen to the radio frequently to stay up to date with current music and belong to a couple of record pools to make sure I have any songs the customer needs.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I ❤️ music so I started by shadowing a DJ and his company in 2006. Later built my business from the bottom up and reinvested my earnings into more/newer equipment to stay up to date with everything.
