Neil has been awesome and I have learned so much since I started taking drum lessons with Neil about a year ago. I had been a recreational drummer for many years but was lacking guidance to take my drumming to the next level. Neil has a great program that focuses on reading music, playing rudiments and learning various drum beats for rock, funk and more. Neil also play bass, which has been a great accompaniment for practice sessions. In addition, Neil has given me great insights into practicing better with my band, tips for playing live and how to become a better musician in general. Very highly recommended!!
Art gave drum lessons to my then 9 year old daughter. He was great! He was always punctual, came prepared, was patient with her, kept it fun and gave good, clear homework assignments. I highly recommend him.
I am a bass player who has always played guitar here and there but nothing too serious, and about a year ago decided I really want to know the fundשmentals of guitar. A friend recommended Jacob Light, whom I've heard play before in local bands, and I decided to take the chance. I wasn't dissapointed to say the least. Jacob is a really down to earth guy who immediately understood my musical style and focused mainly on what I wanted to know, unlike other teachers I've had experience with. Even so, he knew what subjects to insist I learn, like improvisation. and scales. all this was done in a friendly, calm, cool yet persistent atmosphere which is just the right blend for learning, in my opinion.Soon enough I started feeling I really understand guitar, and this new kno'ledge even helped me with my bass guitar playing. Ive been taking guitar lessons with Jacon for 6 months and the only downdise I can think of is the fact he moved to California, otherwise I would have still take lessons from him, without a doubt.
I have been taking drum lessons from Steve Trovao for about a year and a half now. And am having the time of my life, I have seen Steve teach students as young as three and as old as me, Im 52. He is a versatile teacher in that he adapts to every students needs and has amazing patience. I have been learning the blues, and have seen Steve at many venues from rock, blues, jazz, swing, reggae and many more styles, in which he uses in his teaching. I am looking forward to continuing my education with Steve.
I strongly recommend Diego as an excellent professor of piano, who really motivates students to develop their ability. He gave piano lessons to my older daughter for more than 5 years since she was in high school, until some months ago. I am very grateful to Diego for encouraging Almudena, my daughter, to find a way of expressing herself through music.
Matthias has been giving my son drum lessons for almost 5 years. He is an outstanding teacher and knows just the way to relate to young people and keep them interested. He is also a terrific drummer.
Joe deRose is a great teacher and friend. He has helped me improve as a drummer and musician for over 4 years. He's knowledgeable in every genre of drumming and has guided me through rock, jazz, funk, and Latin styles. Joe makes learning simple and comprehensible by breaking down his own thinking process and offering personal advice. Great teacher for both beginners and adavanced drummers.
Henry Reed is a very good drum teacher. He has been working with my son for 6 months now and we have seen incredible progress. He is patience and very informative in his lessons. I highly recommend using him.
I had my first drum lesson with Mike Hoffmann today. He is a very professional and I had also fun learning from him. He is excellent and I am happy. Ping Haas
Ward is fantastic! My 7 year old son was interested in learning to play drums- Ward gave him the space to explore his studio and all of the percussion instruments in there, as well as the structure to start to learn. We are thrilled!
Mike was an excellent teacher of the drums and I highly recommend him to anyone starting to learn how to drum. He is skilled in conga drums along with standard kits.
I have been taking drum lessons with Eyal for two years. I have grown so much as a musician and as a person from my time with Eyal. He pushes me to practice and to love the drums, in a supportive, kind way. I can't thank him enough for how much he has helped me!
Alex is one in a million! He teaches music through a structural perspective rather than by the more traditional method of learn a note here, learn a note there (I haven't played the piano since I was a child, but I still cringe at the memory of the tedious and monotonous scales, finger exercises and simplified classical pieces I used to have to play). Alex's lessons are anything but tedious, and, even though I am essentially a beginner (having forgotten everything I learned as a child), I feel like I am well on my way to having a deeper understanding of what I am playing because I have a developing understanding how it works. I feel like I am learning the language of music through total immersion rather than by the textbook method of learning how to read the notes. I now listen to and hear music differently, and there is much I am learning on my own. I am especially pleased with the way Alex tailors my lessons around what I want to do rather than what he thinks I should do. As a result, I am learning to play jazz piano rather the stuff I was forced to play as a child (unless I want to, of course, in which case he would teach me that). And the best part (as if it could get better)? Alex is so enthusiastic about what he does that it is contagious and makes working with him a sheer joy. There is not much I look forward to and enjoy more than my lessons with Alex. Needless to say, I highly recommend Alex Balmaceda for anyone who is interested in learning more about music than simply reading and playing the notes.
I have been with Otto for 2 months and an delighted with my progress. He is clearly a knowledgeable and skilled musician and teacher. He is building my drumming skills layer by layer. Each week I learn new techniques starting with the basics. As well, he shows patience and if I am puzzled he uses a different method to get the point across. I hold a master's degree and play another instrument so understand and recognize a good teacher.
Great instructor. Thorough and knowledgable. I played two drum beats on my first drum lesson and I had never played drums before. I progressed rapidly and after 6 months can comfortably play with a band.
Thomas is great with the kids. So focused on them and enthusiastic. My son, who has not liked music or playing an instrument, recently signed up with Thomas for drumming lessons. He's like a new kid. LOVES it!
I am offering drum lessons to kids and adults in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. Fun, flexible and affordable. Please contact me for more details. Have a great day!
I've been a professional drummer for over 30 years and have been teaching drums for 15 years. I do rock band group lessons and performance.
Hi everyone, I am a multi-instrumentalist offering beginner/intermediate guitar, bass and drum lessons for students of all ages in the South Bay area. Many studies show that learning a musical instrument helps improve performance on cognitive tasks, increases the capacity of your memory, fosters your self-expression, boosts your self-confidence, relieves stress and above all else is fun! I am 27 years old and have been involved with various bands and session gigs throughout the Bay Area. I have been playing drums for over 16 years and have approximately 11 years of experience with guitar and bass. I have had many great experiences over the years in teaching music to friends and family. I recently began offering my music instruction services professionally and have had a lot of success with students as young as 7 and as old as 56. My lessons are structured based on your level of experience and musical tastes. I find that it is more fun and effective to integrate music lessons with a student's favorite music. You will not only be learning how to play an instrument but will also learn how to play some of your favorite songs along the way! After a few of my beginner guitar/bass lessons, you will be able to learn the following: Identify and play basic chords Use different beginner guitar/bass techniques such as bends, hammer-ons and tremolo picking Perform basic maintenance of your instrument such as tuning by ear and restringing your guitar/bass Read and interpret guitar/bass tablature Ultimately, my goal with every student is to help make music a lifetime hobby for them. I understand that learning a new instrument can be very intimidating for some people; instead of focusing on more complex topics like scales and music theory, my aim for beginners is to help build up their confidence by teaching fun songs, iconic riffs, fun beats and cool techniques that show immediate results. I offer one-hour instruction of the instrument of your choice (guitar, bass or drums) for $35. This is a flat rate, and I will not charge extra if you have friends or family who would like to learn alongside you during our lessons! Guitar/bass lessons can be taught either at your home, my apartment or a place of your choosing (i.e. coffee shop, park, etc). Drum lessons can only be taught at your home. I have extra guitars that you can use for the duration of our lessons if needed. Please shoot me an e-mail if you are interested, so we can discuss your availability, level of experience and music tastes. Thanks!
Have drum lessons with Bob Danielson, a seasoned teacher-performer. I've been teaching privately, beginners through professionals, for over 25 years. I am a professional drummer with a music studio in San Francisco. I'm well-versed in a wide variety of musical styles, have a long history in the music business, and a strong understanding of music theory, all of which serve me well as a drum instructor. Your lesson can be a half hour or one hour in length, it's up to you. For a beginner, for the first several lessons, I'll show you how to practice without a drum set, as you decide if drumming is for you. I have excellent references, gladly provided upon request. Thanks for considering me, Bob
