Sergey did an excellent job installing a ball catch on a door, bolting 3 pieces of furniture to walls for earthquake proofing, fixing a loose board on our fence, and installing a tool rack in our garage. He cleaned up after himself. He was on time and personable to boot. Would recommend without reservations.
He did great work, fast, neat and reasonably priced. I will definitely have him back to do more work. I had a fence that needed fixing and it now looks perfect. He is building a ramp in my yard, hanging shelves in my kitchen and installing a ceiling fan next.
Valentin was incredibly responsive on a holiday weekend. He came out within one day of our posting the project to give us an estimate and ended up spending more than an hour with us, helping to map out our irrigation system. He returned when promised and found and repaired all the leaks, including one that was underneath concrete and had been slowly leaking into our basement. His rates were very reasonable. He was polite and patient as we peppered him with questions. We'd hire him again without hesitation and would highly recommend him.
I was in a time crunch, and needed a falling fence repaired asap. Matt responded quickly to my initial request, as well as every subsequent email/text. We scheduled a visit the next morning, where he inspected the damage, and described a couple of options for the repair. That same evening, he sent us a quote with a reasonable and competitive price, and luckily was able to squeeze us into his schedule, despite only a couple days notice. The first day of the job, Matt and his team showed up on time, and got straight to work tearing out our old, rotting fence. Their work was clean and tidy, and they even made the extra effort to accommodate us in removing all of the debris that day, as we were scheduled to have photos of the yard taken. They returned the next morning to construct a beautiful, new fence, built to the highest standards. Afterwards, they cleaned up, ensured our yard was returned to it's original condition, and even helped us out by taking some extra yard compost with them, which had been left behind by the city. In the past, my experience w/ other contractors in general had been less than positive. Cost, communication, and especially workmanship on several jobs had become such a concern, that recently, I have been simply attempting most projects myself, if at all possible. My experience with Matthew Kelly Construction has been a breath of fresh air compared to these other interactions. Throughout the entire job, he and his team were incredibly considerate, accommodating, and some of the friendliest people I have ever worked with. Not only would I hire Matt again in a heartbeat, I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality carpentry/construction work.
Walter and his Crew are FANTASTIC, PROFESSIONAL and ARTISTIC. They completed our new Fence construction and Staining, installation of Ornamental Iron Gate and Slate Tiling project with diligence, expertise and dedication. We are thrilled with the exceptional results and the quality of workmanship. They worked tirelessly in record breaking heat, kept the project on time and we, the homeowners happy and satisfied with the beautiful outcome.
We are so happy with the work Nick did for us. He was easy to get in touch with, always communicated clearly, and explained the work he would need to do. He was on time and when the job looked like it would take a bit longer, he worked with our schedule. We live in an old building and weren't sure what surprises would be lurking in our wiring. Nick provided solutions, not excuses when any complications came up in the work to be done. We would definitely recommend him for any lighting installation job.
Mike did a great job fixing up our fence. The fence was in pretty bad shape, and we let him know that we were looking for economical options to get a few more years out of it. He was great at being creative to keep costs low - will definitely have him back to help us out with other jobs!
Noel is honest and straight forward. He is unlicensed, but has experience building fences. If you are in a hurry he may not be your guy, because he works several jobs at a time. It took over a month to get my fence built.
I hired Jasper from My Apartment Is Better Than Yours. I think they did a terrific job at a very reasonable price. I'm really pleased that I decided to go with them. I had a number of unusual carpentry tasks to complete when I moved to my new place. The windows were old and the wood was irregular and moldy, so the wood around the antique glass panels needed to be replaced. I was told those windows hadn't been opened in 40 years, but now they work perfectly and you'd never know the wood wasn't original. Also, several doorways lacked doors when I moved in, and were unusual rounded shapes cut into the stucco without doorframes. Jasper was able to make me custom doors with antique iron-wrought handles, and they look awesome. I also needed threshholds worked on, cabinets put up, new benches made for my roof deck, a custom projector and screen put in, antique chandeliers installed, a lock repaired... and I'm probably forgetting one or two things. They are in the process of putting the finishing touches on my humidor (they had to build me custom legs for it), and it's going to look spectacular. Anyway, they knocked it all out of the park. They were prompt and clean and didn't cause much of a disturbance despite all the work they were doing. They'll be my go-to for anything I need done in the future. I definitely recommend them.
Had a fence fixed after a windy storm knocked it down and Pedro was the man and had gotten it fixed and also fixed a different part of the fence the same day on short notice
Richard did a fantastic job building our fence. It looks amazing. Quality contractor, very trustworthy.
Peter was AMAZING to work with. My dad had emergency surgery and I needed someone to quickly build railings leading into their house. Not only did he call me within 10 min, he was AT my parents house within an hour to start the project. He was professional, friendly, VERY reasonable, and accommodating (he added metal railings for my dad to grab onto!) Not only that, he made sure it was his best work. He sent me photos and communicated with me throughout the project. He was able to get it done within 1 day! I have already recommended him to my family and will be hiring him for other projects! THANK YOU PETER, YOU WERE A LIFESAVER AND WE OWE YOU!!!!
Did a great job building a redwood fence on a slope. Have some more work coming up.
Ryan's energy and efficiency made the project get completed quickly. He did a great job building 3 short stair railings on the deck and garage steps. I would hire him again for small building projects. Very friendly and the family dog liked him and didn't bark at him like she usually does with strangers! Trustworthy and helpful.
I really actually enjoyed every aspect of working with this service provider. They went the extra mile for me in every way. I’m happy with the final product and I feel like I paid a fair price for what I got. For instance, we decided to put a row of bricks around the entire perimeter of my yard as a barrier between the new sod and my fence. These guys brought a brick cutter and did custom cuts on the bricks so that they would conform more tightly to my fence posts and other small anomalies. They didn’t have to do this at all but they just did it. I would recommend them to anyone.
We are completely satisfied with Bin and his crew (including his brother who worked extremely hard the entire time) to build us a new, beautiful, structurally sound and beautiful fence for our home! The price was reasonable, they were always on time and fast but did not cut corners. They take pride in their work and wanted us to be 100% happy and when we asked them for a few changes or fixing, they did it with no complaints or hassle. I recommend Bin and his team and will hire them again for other jobs. Very happy and glad we found someone that we can trust and know that they will complete the work to our satisfaction.
Alejandro was great to work with and he did a great job building our fence. We gathered a few quotes and Alejandro's was the least expensive and included the haul away of our old fence which was covered in plants and ivy. We are very satisfied with the high quality and look of our fence. I recommend Alejandro!
Eduardo changed how my house looked he did my new fence fast clean and professionaly, he also did my living room hard floor
I hired CFI Construction to frame a new 501 sq ft building on our property to be used as a sewing studio. Today, they started and finished framing the walls, and enclosing the entire building with shear panels. Next week, when the trusses arrive, they are going to install them and install roof shearing. I learned of CFI two days ago on Thumbtack. Having observed their work today, I feel like the A team just fell out of the sky into my project. They are phenomenal in every respect. Their work, honesty, and work ethic are models for the construction industry. They have years of experience framing large projects, both residential and commercial. I was humbled that they chose to work on my project. They are not solely a framing company. They can build a building from start to finish, I just happened to hire them for framing. Having enjoyed today's experience, I'm going to use them for more phases of our project. Both the owner of the company (Steve) and one of his sons (Drew) were on site the entire day, as well as their crew of 5 framers. I wanted to write this review now, even though they still have trusses to install and the front porch to frame, because I want other users of Thumbtack to have the same benefit of a 1st class, licensed, professional construction company, as I did today. I strongly recommend that you seek out CFI Construction for your projects. They are the real deal. Thank you Steve and Drew.
Having just moved into a house on the start of summer, my wife and I found it was unbearably hot on hot days, but really just in one room with a vaulted ceiling: the parts of the house covered by the regular, narrow attic were much cooler. I'd been looking into all house fans, but was concerned that they would not solve the problem in my house because they must be placed in the parts of the house without the heat problem and try to draw hot air down and around corners to reach its intake. I found a device made by a Massachusetts company, Tamarack Technologies, which would directly vent to the outside of the house and close shut at R10 insulation level when not in use. This seemed like the way to go. After failed attempts to get one-trick-pony whole house fan companies to step outside their boxes, I just ordered the unit so that now I could just go on Thumbtack and say "install this unit". Separately I got a quote from the company who last serviced the roof on the building, but the estimator basically told me they weren't interested in the project. Kasra at Sustainable Roofing Solutions was a breath of fresh air. Trained as an architect and an expert in passively efficient building designs, he listened and said I was spot on with my concerns about the air flow. He gave me good ideas about more common solutions to this problem - in particular suggesting a powered skylight. I very nearly returned the unit and went with his suggestion - until we discovered that the specific roof design of the house made a skylight less suitable. But once we had determined that was a dead end, I got enthusiastic, professional and capable work. All in all, the project came in on time and budget. I'm very satisfied with the outcome, and it has definitely made my home livable on hot days and the evenings after.
I hired a certain company to do some work for me years ago. Issues arose after they finished. They continually sent people out to fix the problem, but they never could fix it. I had about lost my patience when they sent out Aldo. Aldo finally fixed the problem. Aldo left a lasting impression on me with his knowledge and professionalism. A couple years later I was ready for my inlaw project. I called Aldo to see if I could hire just himself to do the project. Aldo told me he was striking out on his own and he’d be happy to. The project came out great and anything I was remotely not satisfied with was corrected. I will not bore with all the details, but I will share one story that sums up what you can expect when hiring Equilibrium. I was coming home late from dinner. Aldo was in the process of installing a skylight that week and when I left the restaurant I became concerned because it was raining. I knew there was a tarp over the hole, but I don’t think anyone expected it to rain and I’m admittedly a tad type-a. I hustled home to make sure everything was copacetic. When I arrived at around midnight, I saw Aldo’s truck in the driveway. He was on the roof making sure that everything was secure and no water was getting in through the freshly cut hole. I never called him. He drove all the way out to my home in the middle of the night just to make sure everything was ok. Class act.
