Berkeley Guitar and Bass Lessons

Introduction: I offer private guitar and bass instruction, as well as songwriting lessons, for children and adults. I have a master's degree in music (MA in music composition); I've been playing guitar and bass for over 30 years, and have been teaching full-time for the past 17 years. I welcome complete beginners, as well as those more experienced who are looking to expand their knowledge. My areas of specialization are improvisation, songwriting and music theory. Additionally, I am experienced in recording and can help students make the transition from playing music to writing and recording it. Lessons are preferably weekly (though bi-weekly classes are offered as well) and either 30 or 60 minutes, depending on your goals. I also offer family discounts for multiple students, as well as a discount for college students. I have a genuine love of teaching music and seek to provide my students with a warm and encouraging atmosphere, allowing for the discovery of self-exploration and expression through music.
