- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I belong to five beekeeping associations including the state beekeepers. I attend educational meetings two to three times a month. I also provide education to schools, garden clubs and private organizations.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I think everyone likes to eat honey. I noticed my family uses a lot so I took up beekeeping as a hobby. Once I got started keeping bees I saw that I had additional skills that would be beneficial to providing a service to the community.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Every job is very unique but generally people call me because they observe bees in a big clump somewhere near their home. I make a determination on where they live and then develop a plan on the best way to remove them.
