Introduction: Over the last five years, Edupath has partnered with the San Francisco Public Library in offering free test-prep and college admissions guidance to over a thousand San Francisco students. The course offers intensive preparation for the SAT and is scheduled over the four or five weeks leading up to an actual SAT administration. It features an instructor-led curriculum supported by Edupath SAT, a mobile, adaptive learning platform we have developed to continuously adapt to students' progress, ensuring that they get the most benefit from their time in class. There you will see the following courses: * SAT in Chinese This 10-hour course is designed as an intensive introduction to the SAT for Mandarin and Cantonese speaking English language learners. * SAT single-subject (SAT Math, SAT Critical Reading, SAT Writing) These courses are designed as intensive, subject-specific courses for students who have taken the PSAT and/or SAT and targeted specific areas to intensive study and review. * ACT This 10-hour course is is designed to offer intensive preparation for the ACT and will generally be scheduled over the four or five weeks leading up to an actual ACT administration. * College Essay Writing This course is designed as a clinic to introduce students to best practices for essay writing and to offer personalized supervision as students either begin or refine their personal statements for college. * Paying for College This course is designed to provide a primer for parents and students navigating the financial aid process. According to analysis conducted by the United States Department of Education, students with access to information about the cost of college and the options for loans and scholarships matriculate at a higher rate than students and families with less financial literacy. * College Admissions Overview This course is designed to give students an introduction to the considerations involved in applying to college, including test scores, the personal statement, financial aid, letters of recommendation and presentation of academic achievement and extracurricular involvement. This course is ideal for students who have not yet taken the SAT, as it can frame and deepen their engagement with test preparation.
