Molding or baseboards,
Troy was very good in his job. He had innovative ideas to fix my patio door instead of just saying to replace the whole thing. He also installed the security device and made sure it worked. It was not easy. He kept working until everything was great. Thank you TroyMar 25, 2020Verified
Troy was punctual, upfront and communicated all details about my projects. He’ll be coming back to finish since my projects are time consuming.Nov 9, 2019Verified
Troy did an outstanding job on my condo. He knocked out 13 projects in a few hours so that I could get my place looking good so I could sell it. This guy really knows how to fix things and he works extremely fast. His hourly rate is very competitive and the the work was perfect. I would definitely recommend Troy for your home projects.Jan 24, 2020VerifiedMasterCraft Handyman's reply
Thank you Adam!
I had a microwave installed. I wish he would have just told me he couldn’t do it. Three hours later, he added these brackets under the counter without asking me if that was ok (not part of installation) and split the wood, scraped the paint off the wall behind it and the cabinets next to it, and bent the top of the microwave on one side because the bolt went into tight. I hesitate to leave bad reviews for anything, but this was a really poor job. I spent $150 for this.Jan 28, 2020VerifiedMasterCraft Handyman's reply
I’m very sorry you didn’t like the outcome Lynn. You simply could have called me and I would have fixed the issues. Lynn’s microwave was too large for the space so it took extra time to widen the opening. The microwave was also defective in that only one of the top bolt holding brackets was fixed. I had to modify one side of the microwave which took more time. The average cost in CA to install a microwave is $175. I didn’t notice any paint being scarred. The brackets can be removed as they are only belt and suspenders. They can not be seen as they are under the cabinet. A little painters putty and paint will hide the holes and crack. Again, Lynn could have simply contacted me and I would have addressed her concerns quickly and thoroughly. I work very hard to do a great job. I explained to Lynn that the microwave was too wide and that it was defective. I did the best I could under the circumstance.
Troy was prompt and professional. Highly recommend for service!Feb 26, 2020VerifiedMasterCraft Handyman's reply
Thank you Vinish!
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My rate is $65/ hr with a 2 hour minimum. Many jobs have a flat rate and we can discuss. 👍🏼
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Through cell communication and photos, we’ll establish a need and I will provide a time estimate. If I happen to be in your area I’ll gladly swing by at a moments notice.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I grew up around carpenters and DIYers. I joined the carpenters union in my early 20’s where I trained and worked on all types of construction sites. From demo to finish and high rises to residential. I remodeled several of my own homes as well as friends’. I always have a project going weather it’s residential or an airstream travel trailer.. I recently restored 15 units in a 54 unit studio apt. complex in Hillcrest as well as a $350,000 remodel in Bonita. I’ve just about done it all but I’m humble and always willing to learn and try new ways of doing things . The industry is constantly changing w materials, finishes and codes.
