I’m NEW to thumbtack and would love your consideration! I’m an 11 year San Diego resident, college grad and finish carpenter by trade. I have a lifetime of experience as my uncle, father and grandfather all worked as tradesmen at different stages of their lives. I run an adult beach volleyball club (Tower 22 Beach Club) part time in Pacific Beach and supplement my income with construction. I’m easy going, reliable, quick and thorough. Kirk arrived on schedule, Was friendly and very responsive to our needs. Kirk did a most impressive Sherlocking of a difficult electrical problem. He talked me through his trouble shooting process and cleanly fixed the issues. My wife was comfortable with having him in our house (no small thing). All I needed was a new bedroom door prepared and screwed back into the hinges and Troy saved the day! The building I live in is old and uneven but he still made the adjustments to the door and made it functional again. He was very responsive to me and finished the job within a timely manner. I would choose Troy again for any other of my handyman needs!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Cash is the preferred payment option. My rate is $70/hr. Altho, I have a 2 hour minimum ($125) Some jobs have a flat rate and we can discuss. 👍🏼 Electrical, plumbing and finish @ $80/hr. Two technician rate $150/hr.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Through cell communication and photos, we’ll establish a need and I will provide a time estimate. If I happen to be in your area I’ll gladly swing by at a moments notice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up around carpenters and DIYers. I joined the carpenters union in my early 20’s where I trained and worked on all types of construction sites. From demo to finish and high rises to residential. I remodeled several of my own homes as well as friends’. I always have a project going weather it’s residential or an airstream travel trailer.. I recently restored 15 units in a 54 unit studio apt. complex in Hillcrest as well as a $350,000 remodel in Bonita. I’ve just about done it all but I’m humble and always willing to learn and try new ways of doing things . The industry is constantly changing w materials, finishes and codes.
