Dog training type
This was the most relaxed non stressful training. Shauna was amazing extremely patient and my dog took to her immediately. I highly recommend any of the Wagging Tails Training Classes for your baby. Your fur baby will look forward to it and so will you.Apr 19, 2017Verified
Penny is my now 6 month old cocker spaniel! When I chose Penny I thought she was easy going and mellow. I became concerned when what I thought was mellow turned into a nervous, timid pup. She was afraid of everyone except myself and practically "screamed/yelped" when family members tried to pet her. I didn't know what to do, when someone recommended I see a trainer for her. When I contacted Shauna she was able to give me hope that Penny would be a "normal" puppy. On penny's first day she yelped and wouldn't let Shauna touch her! By the end of the first private lesson she was holding her without making her uncomfortable. We decided to renew her next 4 private lessons with Brianna and Shauna! I see such a huge difference... Penny runs with excitement when she sees Shauna and Brianna, instead of the fear I was afraid would control my puppy! Although Penny has proven to be an EXTREMLY smart dog, doing all of the commands they have taught us, I am just happy that she has gained her confidence and is becoming a more comfortable pup! Thank you Shauna and Brianna! Love Penny and AdriannaMar 30, 2017Verified
Dog Training - Group Lessons
Shauna is an amazing talented dog trainer. She worked her magical and brought our very timid dog out of her she'll. We definitely plan to take more classes with her and would recommend her to anyone.Mar 5, 2016Verified
Shauna is awesome! She is very generous with her time and REALLY cares. I stumbled upon her because another local trainer did not return my calls and I am so thankful that I did. My almost 4 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy is responding and learning so quickly and is on his way to becoming a well behaved dog that people will love and envy. Thank you Shauna and keep up the good work!May 21, 2015Verified
Shauna is great! I have tried for two weeks to teach our rescue dog to sit, Shauna had him sitting on hand commands in minutes. She is also very honest with the amount of training needed.Feb 19, 2015Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Private training is available with a 4-week training package with hour-long sessions, once a week. They range from Puppy Preschool to get young pups ready for venturing out in the world. We also teach basic obedience to any age dog in private sessions to get the basic foundation of good manners. I try to be flexible for people that have busy schedules or jobs with unpredictable scheduling or rotating shifts. I also teach group classes that are six weeks and based on skill levels — beginner, intermediate and advanced. The beginner class is taught to the AKC STAR Puppy curriculum, and the Advanced course is the AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification class. All group classes run for 6 weeks and are currently $195 I also offer a 10% discount to first responders, active military, and veterans. I also offer a 10% to individuals that have adopted a dog if they purchase a training package within 90 days of adoption. I do not have a Board and Train Program and I do not provide in-home training.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I always like to start with a phone conversation. It's important to find out what a customer is thinking. It's also important to find out those little details that often get missed in a text. A customer may tell me their dog is aggressive when it's really something simple like a dog vocalizing during play. It can sound pretty vicious, but those little details will help diagnose what is really going on.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?As a professional dog trainer I make sure I keep my training up to date. This may include seminars, webinars, LOTS of reading, collaborating with other trainers for new ideas. The learning should never stop. The more we learn how dogs think, problem solve, and react, the more a trainer should update their skills!
