FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First of all, I love sharing the musical process with others. There's nothing like seeing someone blossom into their own "voice"! You will benefit from my background in teaching and performing both in vocal as well as instrumental settings. No narrow compass here! We will make concrete strides that are anchored in holistic, big picture views, that will allow you to fit into most musical situations. You will instinctively know how to approach new musical challenges in you own wonderfully developed manner. Much of what I do is to strengthen your ability to mindfully become your own "teacher" outside of lessons. Additionally, for more of the "ensemble" experience, you benefit from my live piano accompaniment during your flute or voice lesson as desired.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was 12 yrs. old and studying with Edwin Putnick, first flutist in the Phoenix Symphony and I was playing in the Phoenix Symphonettes, I was already "bitten by the bug". Much earlier I loved singing and piano via my church activities. Basically I knew early on that music would be the focus of my life's work. It grabbed me.
