We found Sid on Thumbtack and he has been giving guitar lessons to myself and my two kids for last 18 months. He is super great with the kids and an awesome teacher. Would highly recommend.
Summer is an amazing theory teacher in so many ways! She's incredibly professional, patient, intuitive, and understanding and has the ability to teach to your personal learning style. Loved every minute of working with her, and it's helped advance my own understanding of music, both with guitar and singing, in a way that has allowed me to make leaps and bounds in my own songwriting as well as learning other music styles. Hire her, right this very minute!
Punctual & responsive. Piano sounds much better.
Nader has taught cello to my 10 year-old son, Caleb for the last 2 years. During in this time, Caleb has made amazing progress. Nader challenges Caleb in a way that builds excitement for music and confidence to excel at his instrument. I can imagine that music lessons and practice can become a chore, but Nader's patience, positive attitude, enthusiasm, and method of teaching keeps Caleb engaged and excited to play the cello. Caleb has truly benefited from the way that Nader engages him each and every time they meet. Nader is a very good listener so that Caleb always feels heard. His questions and concerns are addressed. I give Nader my highest recommendation not only because Caleb has made such good progress, but also because Nader has made the cello very rewarding and enjoyable for Caleb.
Ed Lanthier is a dedicated musician and guitar teacher in San Diego, CA. Ed has taught me music theory, guitar chord construction, and many songs. He keeps the learning experience light and fun. He provides carefully selected, easy to use learning materials. Ed quickly identifies where I struggle and finds ways to fix my issues. He keeps me motivated on my guitar journey with his enthusiasm and positive reinforcement. He is always on time for lessons and conducts himself in a professional manner. I've been taking some flute and piano lessons from Beata. She helped me a lot with my timing on flute and a lot with my fingering choices and positions on piano
Linda has been my son's private cello teacher for many years. With her help he jumped straight into the advanced chamber orchestra at high school as a freshman. We recently added music theory to his regular weekly lessons and as a result his grade for his AP music theory class at the high school is a 99.5%. Here's hoping for a 5 on his AP test!
Before taking piano lessons with Rebecca, my only experience with musical instruction was through elementary and junior high. Rebecca's training and personal dedication to music makes her an extraordinary teacher. We use the Suzuki books, which I love because that's what I used for violin and flute. She supplements those favorites with really nice adult-learning-centered books on theory. As an adult learner, this was helpful, because I could read through these brief books, but then had the terminology to look up my questions online or know what to ask in lessons. The lessons are so fun and well organized. We work on the songs in the books (which included CDs of the songs so you can hear what the song might sound like if you practice enough) and she would help me with songs I brought in too. Rebecca is so kind, and is great with my five-year-old too. Really, Rebecca is an excellent music instructor. Her academic background, many years of actually playing piano and singing, knowledge of the music available and books, and variety of students -- all make her a versatile teacher, capable of helping anyone learn to the play the piano in whatever style they are interested in. Plus, she is an incredible person. I look forward to piano lessons with her.
Cameron is an outstanding teacher. I highly recommend choosing him for your guitar lessons. Cameron makes learning fun, he is very motivational, his easy going personality and teaching style work so well with my learning style. I'm so glad I found this website which led me to my awesome guitar teacher Cameron!
Chris responded immediately to my post for a piano teacher, was very professional, friendly and I really like his stylistic approach to teaching. We have had about four lessons with him and he is punctual, professional, courteous and most importantly, my daughter is really enjoying her lessons. I highly recommend this teacher.
My daughter plays piano and recently joined Mrs. B's class. Mrs. B. helps her with her middle school band music, and goes out of her way to engage her in music technique, classical piano and popular music that she likes.
When I started taking guitar lessons over 5 years ago, I thought it was just going to be a fun hobby. But now it's my passion. The way that RBSOM organizes this company is truly inspiring. From the lessons to the concerts, it's what makes everything for together. The teachers are amazing! They never have a bad thing to say and they really like to get to know each student on a friendship level. The concerts are also a great way to meet people just like you! You almost never have the same band for each song or concert. Age doesn't matter when you are have a great time laughing and playing some music.
My children had music lessons with "Miss Lisa" for over ten years now, in both piano and voice. Now, she is even helping my young actress daughter with her audition monologues. She is a very gifted instructor, and is willing to step out of the box to encourage students and to develop their skills. Patient, kind, and thoughtful, she is nowhere near the "scary piano teacher" stereotype. We have followed her through several locations, and are excited for the new Encinitas Music Workshop. My daughter now has hour-long private voice lessons weekly, and still learns new things on a regular basic. At the new workshop space, there is also an opportunity for a break of pace with Guitar Hero, percussion learning, piano, and other musical pursuits.
Mark was very prompt and professional in his response to my project request. He is a very relaxed guy and made me feel very comfortable during my first lesson. We chatted about my goals, which I feel confident of achieving from Mark. During the first lesson he was making "light bulbs" go on for me for stuff i was struggling trying to learn! He made it so simple and fun. His rates are reasonable. He is worth every bit of it in my opinion. I have had three lessons since and I can not wait until the next one! (FYI...i am mid fifties male playing for three years)
Great piano player and teacher, great with kids. Punctual, flexible, my kids look forward to the lessons every week and have learned a ton.
Received my very first piano lesson answer she was awesome! Definitely will continue learning from her.
Been awesome working with Jason! I've always had an interest in becoming a better musician, but the routine of picking up books that are too complex to fully grasp was always daunting. He's helped tremendously with simple breakdowns and in-depth analysis of music theory and composition, as well as technique and application. I really look forward, not only to the future sessions, but the homework I'm assigned to perfect my craft.🤘
Nicole is a great teacher! I have little background in music, especially piano, and I was unable to read music. However, Nicole has been able to teach me through patient progression and my form playing has improved greatly since our first lesson! My favorite thing about lessons with Nicole is that although she works to give you a solid foundation in the fundamentals, she asks what songs you would like to learn and works with you to learn them as well.
Lorilee was my daughter's piano/ music teacher at her high school. She is full of life, and is a bubbly enthusiastic person. She lives for music. I have been to a few concerts in Manchester, England with my daughter and had attended a masterclass for the children by an eminent pianist. My daughter's knowledge of music and her piano playing had improved greatly. She is still studying music and engineering at her University.
Our 5 year-old has improved a great deal while taking lessons with Amy. She has made it fun and has personalized her lessons to his interest and developmental stage. He now has a better posture while playing and has started to read music.
Megan Padilla at Gracenote studio is a dream! She was an answer to prayers of my heart. After a big move (upheveal for piano lessons) we weren’t satisfied with our first option. Megan has years of experience, skills, and tons of patience. Her knowledge is both deep and broad. She’s a lovely person, excellent pianist, and fabulous teacher. What is even more wonderful is that Megan comes to my house for lessons saving me time and hassle. I’m so happy with our piano experience and I’m excited for her to be able to teach my younger kids as they get old enough to play too!
